    The subject of this master’s thesis is identification and suppression of multiples, typical form of coherent noise, usually present in seismic data. Identification of multiples is based on autocorrelation and retrocorrelation functions, in practice represented by sectional autocorrelogram and sectional retrocorrelogram. Suppression of multiples is achieved by two main groups of methods. First group contains filtering methods based on exploiting a difference between multiples and primaries, which is used to remove the multiples. This group contains such methods like: f-k filtering, Radon filtering and K-L filtering. Second group contains predictive methods based on prediction and subtraction of multiples from input data.
