In this paper the way of using functions from open source library to image processing in matching algorithm is presented. The correlation algorithm which use library functions useful to image matching is describe, take into problems and advantages came from air images. During the experiments optimal size of template and value of correlation coefficient decided if matching is correct were established. The research was done on real images and different texture. The method of the generated before grid was tested too. Matching points covered the area of stereograms and are located evenly on the stereograms, which is necessary in relative orientation process.

The policy of the European Union must be based on condense and up-to date spatial information, necessary both to create the policy of the European Union as well as to implement and monitor the resolutions resulting from the directives of the Union. Two programmes of the European Union meet these expectations. These are INSPIRE and GMES programme. This article presents these programmes, focussing of the role of photogrammetry and remote sensing. The work on the project of the INSPIRE programme, referring to the European Infrastructure of Spatial Data started at the end of 1990s. As the result of the activities of the Group of Experts of programme INSPIRE and several Working Groups, preliminary premises for the INSPIRE programme were made. The result of this work was making the project of the Directive INSPIRE, which, on 23rd July 2004 was submitted to the Parliament and Council of the European Union for the legislation process. As the result of the work done in both these bodies, a document was issued. The title of the document was: Common Statement of the Council. The term of voting is June 2006, at the plenary session of the European Parliament. According to this document, the basic source of terrain information should be satellite or airborne orthophotomaps. Programme GMES (Global Monitoring of Environment and Security) realized by the European Commission and European Space Agency refers to permanent monitoring of our continent and mainly the use of Earth and large city agglomerations. Main source of information in this programme will be medium and high resolution satellite images.

This study describes the photogrammetric and laser scanning data integration problem for elaboration of monumental objects documentation problem. The technology of photogrammetry and the new measurement technology based on laser scanning which was developed in the recent years are usually applied separately. In the study, the original approach is presented against the background of foreign papers. Data integration is the result of partial application of both of the above mentioned methods – by supplementing and correct matching of an appropriate measurement method to the particular situation. Data integration can take place at various stages of elaboration: during the outdoor measurements or office work. In the study, data integration is presented theoretically and practically. Theoretical deliberations are based on own research and the analysis of current literature. Several new definitions and classifications are introduced, to be used in the study, for systematic description of the data integration issue in all variants. The quality and workload control methods have also been proposed. Technological solutions discussed in the theoretical part have been applied at three test fields. Generation of the data integration products required a special adaptation of commercial software according to the author’s conception. While discussing the testing fields, all the technological problems, new solutions and final results have been described. The quality control of data integration products was executed using proposed quality control methods. The study has proved that effective application of photogrammetric and laser scanning data integration is possible. Thanks to data integration, there are more possibilities of using measurement methods for, among others, documentation of monuments; it also facilitates partial automation of technological process and makes new documentation products available.

The fast development of computer science oriented on capturing, processing and distribution of geoinformation (geoinformatics), which has applications in many technical and natural disciplines of science and technique, calls for urgent unification of professional terminology - for terminological dictionary. The presented open formulae computer program for creation of dictionary assumes the use of internet to continuously present the content of the dictionary database. That way the dictionary is available for users, even during the editorial activity, when it is not completed yet. The open formulae assumes also participation of volunteers in the editorial work via discussion over the existing entries and definitions, as well as via proposing their contributions to the dictionary contents. The project was initialized and is organized by the Geoinformatics Commission of The Polish Academy of Arts and Sciences in Krakow. The dictionary program was prepared by, and dictionary data base is installed on the server of the Department of Photogrammetry and remote sensing informatics. The experimental of pertaining computer program is ready for use in the internet.

W pracy przedstawiono propozycje wykorzystania skanów laserowych i fotogrametrii do prezentacji wartościowych i unikatowych obiektów geoturystycznych, których bezpieczeństwo i ochrona oraz trudna dostępność uniemożliwia powszechne udostępnienie dla ruchu turystycznego. Wykonano skan przestrzenny i zdjęcie fotogrametryczne unikatowego fragmentu chodnika kopalni soli w Bochni, który nie może być ze względów bezpieczeństwa udostępniony turystom, a prezentuje wyjątkowe i ciekawe pod względem naukowym i dydaktycznym procesy geologiczne związane z budową złoża soli w Bochni.
