Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Selection of protective coatings obtained by plasma-spraying method for foundry industry(2017) Richert, Maria Wiesława; Nejman, Ilona; Zawadzka, Paulina; Kacprzyńska-Gołacka, JoannaThis article presents results from the studies of protective coatings applied to industrial graphite molds used for the casting of non-ferrous metals. The selection of coatings was based on the results of measurements of surface wettability by liquid copper and microstructure examinations. The study involved industrial graphite molds with single-layer protective coatings of Al₂O₃ + 30%C and ZrO₂-Y₂O₃ + 30%C as well as two-layer protective coatings of Al₂O₃ + 30%C /glassy carbon and ZrO₂-Y₂O₃ + 30%C /glassy carbon.Item type:Book Chapter, Access status: Open Access , Wybrane sensory w mikroprocesorowym monitorowaniu parametrów środowiskowych powietrza(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2024) Faber, Jakub; Ziółkowski, EugeniuszThis article discusses the issue of air quality in the workplace and its impact on employees – their health, well-being, and productivity. It debates commonly encountered environmental parameters affecting air quality, sources of their formation, and the negative effects of exposure to them. Based on popular air pollutants found in the foundry industry, sensors and a microcontroller with satisfactory parameters were selected to construct a prototype microprocessor system for measuring environmental parameters. The system was assembled and appropriate programming actions were taken to finalize the adopted assumptions. Methods for reading parameters were presented, current measurements were conducted, and further possibilities for system modification were considered.
