Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Methods of CO₂ acquisition and costs reduction in shale rocks fracturing technology(2016) Miedzińska, Danuta; Niezgoda, TadeuszThe innovative method of shale gas recovery with the use of subcritical $CO_{2}$ is currently developed within the project titled »Development of guidelines for design of innovative technology of shale gas recovery with the use of liquid $CO_{2}$ on the base of numerical and experimental research – DIOX4SHELL«, supported by the National Centre for Research and Development (NCBR). The project is carried out by Polish company PGNiG and by academics from WAT, AGH and PW (Military University of Technology, AGH University of Science and Technology, and Warsaw University of Technology). Finding the best business model, in which costs of $CO_{2}$ production or acquisition are negligible is one of the most important factors influencing the economical effectiveness of the technology. The main part of known $CO_{2}$ acquisition methods is based on fuel purchase and its combustion, what is very expensive process. It results with the high $CO_{2}$ price, when purchasing from producer, about 300 zl/ton. This price is quite high, considering current low prices of natural gas. In the paper basic aspects of $CO_{2}$ acquisition from $CO_{2}$ producers, exhaust gases treatment plants or plasma gasification methods will be presented.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Nowe spojrzenie na właściwości zbiornikowe i filtracyjne piaskowców karpackich(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2008) Such, Piotr; Leśniak, GrzegorzOn the base of 388 samples of the Carpathian sandstones analyses of intergranular and fracture permeability and porosity were performed, as well as granulometric analyses and investigations of diagenesis processes. Pore space of these sandstones was created by diagenetic processes. Mechanical compaction and cementation dominates but dissolution played role in creating of secondary porosity. Conducted investigations thrown a new light on filtration properties of moderate porosity sandstones. Intergranular permeability are very low but fracture porosity can reach relatively high values (up to 50 mD) in great part of investigated sandstones. This fact opens new opportunities in exploration of such type of sandstones in the Carpathian flysch.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Stimulation of unconventional hydrocarbon reservoirs(2014) Szabó, Dávid; Pinka, Ján; Stoličný, EduardIn the »new age« oil and gas industry came more and more into focus term of unconventional hydrocarbons. Gained experience and success in the United States tight gas sand reservoirs Piceance, Anadarko, Greater Green, Lobo fields confirmed the hidden potential of unconventional hydrocarbon resources. In some production and development areas called coal bed seam, shale gas and tight sand reservoirs without intensifying operations isn't possible to produce commercial gas volumes. Used practises and gained large experiences in the crude oil fields are commonly used in the shale and tight gas fields across the United States. Application of these technologies of stimulation methods like fracturing in Europe is at the very beginning. Pioneer investors are waiting in all Europe for the well testing results from the first dozen fractured shale gas and tight sand reservoirs. Test results could have significant influence on the future planned massive drilling campaign of exploration of the unconventional hydrocarbon resources.
