Item type:Book Chapter, Access status: Open Access , Analysis of external factors that affect availability of gas engines(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2023) Kalwar, Adam; Pytel, Krzysztof; Kurdziel, Franciszek; Grzywnowicz, Grzegorz; Marikutsa, UlianaThe factors that directly affect the operation of the gas-fired internal combustion engines that are used in grid-connected generators are presented. Those factors that hinder their operation are also presented, along with ways to solve problems at the operating stage. Our conclusions are also presented for the future that can be used in further projects of cogeneration installations.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Bilans energetyczny agregatu kogeneracyjnego zasilanego gazem kopalnianym(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2024) Kalwar, Adam; Filipek, Roman; Madejski, Paweł; Pytel, Krzysztof; Kurdziel, FranciszekThis paper presents the results of a study of a gas engine heat recovery system in terms of efficient use of the energy contained in the fuel, with the study performed determining the most efficient variant of gas engine operation. A comparison between the manufacturer’s data and the performance results was also made. Simulations performed on the system model allowed the optimum engine load range to be determined. The results of the analyses also indicated which variant of the engine heat recovery system is the most effective.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Gospodarcze wykorzystanie metanu z pokładów węgla JSW S.A. w instalacjach energetycznych(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2005) Tor, Andrzej; Gatnar, KazimierzPaper presents the resources of coal bed methane in the region of Jastrzębie Coal Company (JSW SA) coming from both active and abandoned coal mines. It is also presented how the gas is being used in heat and power plants grouped in Energy Company Jastrzębie (SEJ SA) and in new cogeneration and trigeneration installations with gas engines at Suszec and Pniówek plants. In the summary the role of combined production plants for energy delivery to coal mines is discussed as well as further possibilities of coalbed methane utilization is plants based on gas engines are presented.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , The energy balance of a CHP unit fuelled by mine gas(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2024) Kalwar, Adam; Filipek, Roman; Madejski, Paweł; Pytel, Krzysztof; Kurdziel, FranciszekThis paper presents the results of a study of a gas engine heat recovery system in terms of efficient use of the energy contained in the fuel, with the study performed determining the most efficient variant of gas engine operation. Utylizacja metanu z pokładów węgla jest bardzo ważna z przyczyn gospodarczych i ekologicznych. w artykule przedstawiono zasoby metanu pokładów węgla w Polsce oraz stosowane metody jego utylizacji.
