    In this work are presented results of an analysis of the geological-engineering character of the land subsoil of the Krzyż district of Tarnów. The aim of this work was an assessment of groundwater conditions in the foreground moraine area, which was carried out on the basis of archive documentation, literature and my own interpretation. The analysis was carried out on the basis of both the parameters of samples in accordance with norm PN-81/B-03020 and geological cross-sections of my own making. On the basis of this analysis, the existence of varied groundwater conditions was confirmed. Clay, clay-silt and silt soils were found. These are delicate samples, whose parameters are weakened by the effects of water. Loam soils have an effect on groundwater conditions, as they are relatively impermeable and so can cause waterlogging. The presences of geodynamic or erosive phenomena was not confirmed. The only danger is the threat of flooding and localized subsidence in the south-western part of the area analyzed.
