Item type:Thesis, Access status: Restricted , Dokumentacja geoturystyczna wybranych szlaków turystycznych Beskidu Małego w rejonie między Andrychowem a Suchą Beskidzką(Data obrony: 2014-10-16) Zandecka, Magdalena
Wydział Geologii, Geofizyki i Ochrony ŚrodowiskaThe tesis presents an analysis of the hiking trails the eastern part of Beskid Mały. The area was first characterized paying particular attention to geology. As geoturistic documentation are presented and characterized natural values and objects. Were also characterized anthropogenic objects. These attractions are located on maps of routes.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Geotourist maps of the Sudetic Geostrada Trail as a new form of popularization of geotourism in the Sudety Mts.(2015) Bartuś, TomaszThe aim of the paper is the presentation of Geological tourist maps of the Sudetic Geostrada Trail, which were prepared during the development of the project: »The Sudetic Geostrada – geological and landscape studies heritage with an inventory of the objects of abiotic nature« (2008–2011). The main aim of the project was to popularize the geological-mining heritage and abiotic nature of the Sudety Mts. The maps are synthetic, multi-sheet, cartographic development prepared in three versions: a geotourist map of the Sudetic Geostrada Trail at a 1 : 25 000 scale (on a base geological map), a geological and mining heritage map of the Sudetic Geostrada Trail, on a base topographic map at a 1 : 25 000 scale and Geosites localization maps at a 1 : 10 000 scale. The main thematic layers of the maps present the most important and attractive geosites, protected objects of biotic nature, objects of infrastructure and tourist attractions. Main recipients of these maps can be tourists and local governments. The maps may become important tools in popularizing and promoting geotourism in the Sudety Mts.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Not simply volcanoes - The Geoheritage of the Cretaceous System in the Land of the Extinct Volcanoes Geopark, West Sudetes (SW Poland)(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2020) Migoń, Piotr; Pijet-Migoń, EdytaVolcanic geoheritage is emphasized as the main asset and distinctive characteristic of the Land of Extinct Volcanoes Geopark in the West Sudetes (SW Poland). However, the geoheritage values of the region are not limited to the legacy of ancient volcanism but include various other elements. This paper explores the contribution of geosites that expose sedimentary rocks of Cretaceous age and landforms developed upon these rocks. Six localities from the Geopark area, included in the comprehensive regional inventory of geosites, are presented. They represent natural and man-made sandstone outcrops and show, among others, lithological variations, small- and large-scale post-sedimentary deformation structures, landforms arising from differential weathering (rock shelters, honeycombs), boulder fields and a sandstone xenolith in volcanic rocks. Next, five localities from outside the Geopark, but still within the Pogórze Kaczawskie region, are described. Qualitative and quantitative evaluation of both groups is attempted, and the results show that, in general, geosites within the Geopark rank higher. However at least two from the other group also have significant geotourist potential. Finally, a brief comparative analysis with other parts of the Sudetes, where Cretaceous sedimentary rocks occur, is offered.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , The Herľany geyser – a unique hydrogeological and geotouristic locality in Europe(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2014) Štrba, ĽubomírThe paper introduces the Herľany geyser as a unique geotouristic locality that would be appreciated as a member of any geosite network. Based on description of general geology and hydrogeology of the area, the text explains the origin of the cold-water geyser. Applying the method of geosites assessment, detailed geotouristic value of the geyser is specified for the first time.
