Item type:Thesis, Access status: Restricted , Analiza przestrzenna zmian środowiska na terenie projektowanego obszaru chronionego Kanionu Colca w Peru(Data obrony: 2017-10-23) Tyszer, Magdalena
Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Educational trails of the Racławka Valley Nature Reserve and their potential for geoeducation(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2021) Szreter, Anna; Skoczylas-Śniaz, Sylwia; Wierzba, Katarzyna; Czoch, Paulina; Bolek, Szymon; Kowal-Kasprzyk, JustynaThe Racławka Valley is located west of Krakow, in the Krakow-Częstochowa Upland. This is a place of high bio- and geodiversity, where various rocks of different ages outcrop in vast excavation pits, narrow gorges or form characteristic monadnocks. The richness of various morphological forms and special habitats led to the constitution of a nature reserve, covering most of the Racławka Valley and adjacent, southern parts of the Szklarka Valley. Three educational trails lead through the reserve, connecting a number of geosites. The Geotourism Students’ Scientific Club (GSSC) from AGH University of Science and Technology examined the usability of these trails for geoeducation. After completing geotourism valorisation, adequate teaching materials were prepared, and different age groups were guided around the trails. Their comprehension has been verified by quizzes and opinions gathered through questionnaires. On the bases of these, the three educational trails were widely described and assessed in respect for their terrain difficulty, accessibility, and infrastructure. Each trail has a leitmotif and a specific theme, however geosites from different trails can be combined together to get a route of a chosen theme. The GSSC also released three new geotourism guidebooks, one for each trail, as a result of AGH rector's grant projects in the years 2018–2020.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Geotouristic bicycle path around Nowy Targ (Carpathians, Poland)(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2020) Szczęch, Mateusz; Cieszkowski, Marek; Szczęch, Szymon; Chodyń, RafałThe area in the vicinity of Nowy Targ is located within the northern part of the Orawa-Nowy Targ Basin and the southern slopes of the Gorce Mountains in the Polish sector of the Outer Carpathians. Geologically, the region is built of the Upper Cretaceous–Palaeogene turbiditic deposits representing sedimentary successions of the Krynica Subunit of the Magura Nappe and the Neogene–Quaternary fresh-water deposits filling the Orawa-Nowy Targ Basin. The Magura Nappe in the described area is represented by the thick-bedded sandstones of the Magura Formation and thin-and medium-bedded sandstone-shale deposits of the Malcov Formation, which are well-exposed in numerous outcrops, especially in the Łopuszna stream valley. The Magura Nappe deposits were folded and cut by a fault system in the Miocene. The presented area displays varied geomorphological relief and picturesque landscapes. Moreover, rare species of fauna and flora occurring here, as well as the still-alive culture of the Podhale Highlanders and continuously improving tourist infrastructure additionally contribute to the development of geotourism in this area. In addition, this area is an increasingly popular place among cyclists, thanks to the development of a network of bicycle paths, therefore the proposed geotourist bicycle path will extend the offer for this group of tourists.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Geotouristic values of the Chochołowska Valley (Tatra Mountains, Poland) and their accessibility for people with physical disabilities(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2018) Chrobak, Anna; Ciurej, Agnieszka; Wolska, Anna; Kowalik, SzymonThe purpose of this contribution is to present the geotourist path in the Chochołowska Valley for the disabled with limited mobility, as well as for the elderly. The Chochołowska Valley is the most westward valley in the Polish Tatra Mountains (Western Tatras). It is the longest and largest valley in the Polish Tatra Mountains, with an area of 35 km$^{2}$ and 10 km in length. The highest peak located in the Chochołowska Valley is the Starorobociański Wierch at 2176 m a.s.l. The altitude at the end of the valley around Siwa Polana, is about 900 m a.s.l. (from 910 m a.s.l. to 920 m a.s.l.). At the Polana Huciska, where the geotoursit path ends, the altitude is about 1000 m a.s.l. The length of the path is 3.5 km, and the altitude difference over this distance is 100 meters. The Chochołowska Valley is developed in sedimentary rocks (limestones, marls, dolomites), belonging to two nappes: Choč Nappe (e.g. Siwiańskie Turnie outcrop) and Križna Nappe (e.g. Niżna Brama Chochołowska Rock Gate). The valley administratively belongs to the Witów village. A green tourist trail was marked through the valley. It start from the Siwa Polana to the mountain hut named after John Paul II on Polana Chochołowska. An asphalt road is from Siwa Polana to the Polana Huciska. The Chochołowska Valley is one of the most beautiful Tatra valleys with numerous rock outcrops and is considered to have a high geotouristic potential. The proposed geotourist path includes selected outcrops, which can be easily accessed by people with limited mobility, including people in wheelchairs. This path runs along a wide asphalt road, and any additional equipment (e.g. a freewheel for wheelchairs) is not required. A large car parking lot is available at the beginning of the proposed path (Siwa Polana), as well as sanitary and catering facilities.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Granite tors of Waldviertel (Lower Austria) as sites of geotourist interest(2015) Michniewicz, Aleksandra; Różycka, Milena; Migoń, PiotrGranites of the South Bohemian Pluton are among the main rocks in the region of Waldviertel in the northern part of Lower Austria. The overall topography is gently rolling, with higher elevations and medium-altitude mountainous relief present only in the south-western part. Tors are the most characteristic residual landforms and occupy different settings, from mountain tops to valley floors. They vary in shapes and dimensions, with castle koppies and boulder clusters being most common. Many tors host well-developed microforms such as weathering pits, karren, runnels, and flared slopes. Balanced rocks are among the highlights of the region. Because of good access residual granite landforms of Waldviertel are well suited to be developed as geosites and geotourist destinations, but there is clearly a deficit of explanation and interpretation. In this paper 15 representative tors are presented, tourist infrastructure is summarized, and a thematic one-day drive is proposed.Item type:Thesis, Access status: Restricted , Ocena georóżnorodności na terenie miasta Kielce(Data obrony: 2016-09-28) Galus, Patrycja
Wydział Geologii, Geofizyki i Ochrony ŚrodowiskaCelem prezentowanej pracy była ocena georóżnorodności miasta Kielce. Miasto to zlokalizowane jest w Górach Świętokrzyskich. W Kielcach znajduje się pięć rezerwatów przyrody - cztery geologiczne i jeden krajobrazowy. Są to: Rezerwat Ślichowice, Rezerwat Kadzielnia (Skałka Geologów), Rezerwat Wietrznia, Biesak – Białogon i Rezerwat Krajobrazowy Karczówka. Wszystkie są związane z eksploatacją surowców - piaskowców, wapieni i rud ołowiu. Skały, formy, skamieniałości, jaskinie, struktury geologiczne i sekwencje stratygraficzne reprezentują inny wiek geologiczny.
Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Valorisation and categorisation of the geosites in the Podtatrze area (Southern Poland)(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2016) Chrobak, AnnaThe aim of this paper is to propose, valorise and categorise the geosites in the Podtatrze Area (Southern Poland). There are 46 geosites available in geodatabases (PGI, PAS and AGH) at this area. The author suggests next 28 geopoints, which can be used in geotourism. They were valorised by the Pereira and Pereira (2010) and Rybár (2010) methods and categorised. This area contains multiple geotourism attractions including interesting flysch geological settings, landslides, peatbogs, limestone klippes, various types of rivers with small gorges and paleontological sites. The increase in the number of tourists in the Podtatrze region may additionally provide numerous tangible benefits in the future, including sustainable tourism, less “congestion” in the Tatra Mountains, more economic diversity and new job opportunities.Item type:Thesis, Access status: Restricted , Wybrane geostanowiska krasu staszowskiego(Data obrony: 2012-01-11) Szlaga, Barbara
