Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Badanie wpływu zbrylonych popiołów ze spalarni odpadów komunalnych na własności zawiesin popiołowo-wodnych(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2005) Kępys, Waldemar; Piotrowski, Zbigniew; Wisła-Walsh, EwaDense mixtures of conventional fly ashes and water are utilized in many modern mining operations as an underground mine paste backfill, structural fills, fire prevention. The use of MSW fly ashes in such operations are limited as a result of their chemical composition. In this case, the compaction process, accomplished with the use of binder such as Portland cement and/or others, immobilizes the reactive components of this waste and results in the formation of strong granules which remain impervious to leaching. This unables addition of compacted waste to the mixture of fly ash-water. The main purpose of this paper is to evaluate the influence of addition of compacted MSW fly ashes on the properties of fresh and hardened fly ash-water pastes.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Innovative solution of coal slurry mixer(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2017) Feliks, JacekDuring the coal-enrichment process in mechanical processing plants, fine-grained highmoisture coal slurries are produced. These waste products may be used in energetic blends after a special moisture-reducing treatment. Therefore, coal slurry pelletizers are produced (among other things). In the Department of Mining, Dressing, and Transport Machines, a project of a prototypical installation for coal slurry pelletization with a capacity of 50 Mg/h was constructed. The main part of the installation is the mixer. At its bottom part, an opening is placed that is closed by a metal plate. During the pelletization work, a plate is halfopening and rotates around its own axis. The rotation of the drum and agitators installed inside the mixer causes sludge grinding and its homogenization. A properly working drum closure system is important for the proper exploitation of the mixer. The designed mechanism allows us to lower the plate linearly in the first phase and then turn it with a predetermined angle after the complete removal of material from the drum. The project required an examination of the kinematics of the system and determination of the drive system load, which allowed us to designate the working parameters. This paper presents the course of the taken actions and results of the fundamental research, along with their analysis. A selection of optimum design and exploitation parameters was performed on the basis of the graphical synthesis method, created simulation model, and tests of the prototype device.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Physical, chemical and strength properties of dusts from the bentonite sands treatment plants(2011) Kamińska, Jadwiga; Skrzyński, MateuszThe investigation results of the physical, chemical and strength properties of dusts from the bentonite sands treatment plants as well as from the reclamation processes of the analogous spent sands, are presented in the paper. The aim of investigations was the determination of preliminary conditions allowing to pelletising dusts in the bowl granulator. The verified examination methods were applied for testing such dust features as: specific density, bulk density of loosely built and of compacted materials as well as related to them porosity, ignition losses and chemical reaction (pH). The grain composition of after reclamation dusts was measured by means of the laser diffraction analysis, allowing to significantly widening the grain size measuring range. The optimal wetting liquid content (in this case: water), at which the water-dust mixture has the best strength properties (formula) was established. Examinations of the moisture content influence on the permeability, compactibility, flowability and friability of samples compacted by means of the standard moulder's rammer were also performed.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Strength parameters and a mechanical reclamation together with the management of its by-products(2012) Kamińska, Jadwiga; Kmita, Angelika; Kolczyk, Joanna; Malatyńska, PaulinaSelfsetting sands with furan resins are still the largest use of SMS with synthetic resins. They can be used to prepare such forms and cores - of different sizes and shapes, for casting all type alloys [1-3]. A reclamation of spent moulding sands, as a recycling method of waste foundry materials, originated from the casting production cycle, constitutes a very serious problem of each foundry plant, related first of all to the environment protection and also to the rational material management. The results of furan resin sands strength tests from the matrix of pure quartz sand reclaimed was performed on the test apparatus AT-2. Sand sieve analysis was made of fresh and reclaimed material, and loss on ignition tests conducted on reclaimed material, obtained at different times of reclamation treedment. Granulation tests of post out reclamation dust, obtained from the sand were also carried of furan resin.
