Item type:Thesis, Access status: Restricted , Skład chemiczny i mineralogiczny łupków menilitowych oraz jego wpływ na sąsiadujące skały i glebę, Karpaty, Polska(Data obrony: 2011-09-29) Czyżykiewicz, Patrycja
Wydział Geologii, Geofizyki i Ochrony ŚrodowiskaThe main aim of this thesis was to analyse chemical and mineral composition of Menilite Shales from Carpathians, Poland. Following instrumental methods were used: reflected light microscopy, Raman spectroscopy, electron microprobe, FESEM. Bulk analyses WD-XRF and ICP-MS allowed to identify content of heavy metals and REE. Result showed that Menilite Shales consist mainly of calcite, quartz, framboidal pyrite as well as molibdenite and Ti-oxides. Significant amounts of organic matter, graphite, clay minerals and chlorites were observed. Characteristic are synatxial/epitaxial intercalations of graphite and phyllosilicates, whith size from nm to ?m. Menilite Shales contain significant amounts of heavy metals. The presence of Th and REE do not pose threat to the environment, since they occur in monazite. Investigated Menilite Shales can be regarded as one of examples of shale gas host.
