    The thesis presents the characteristics of the hydrogeological conditions and the quality of environment in the municipality of Opatów. The first part describes the area of study, based on informations from archival materials including monitoring studies. Characterized the quality of groundwaters and surface waters also groundwater captures. The second part contains the results of field studies and their interpretation. Measurements of water table were made in 207 dug wells. On the basis of measurements was made the map of groundwater table quaternary - permian - devonian multiaquifer formation.
