In such wheels periodically, after servicing, fatigue cracks are being found. The authors performed strength analysis done by the finite elements method, and verified its results using appropriate tensammetric measurements. The measurements and analyses performed confirmed that direct cause of the fatigue cracks in the barrels is over-rigidity of the structure due to stiff diaphragms joining the wheel disks. Based on this, recommendations were issued regarding modernization of motion wheels in the discussed ho-isting machines.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Breakdown of hoisting machine in mining shaft hoist installed in southern section of R-ll shaft of KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. O/ZG Rudna(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2018) Rokita, TomaszThis article applies to a one-of-its-kind case of the cracking of the main shaft of a hoisting machine that occurred in the southern section of the R-II shaft of KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. Oddział ZG »Rudna« in 2011. The mining shaft hoists installed in the R-II shaft are not only the basic extraction equipment in the Rudna mine but also throughout KGHM. The unscheduled standstill cases of these hoists generate huge losses for the mine. These reasons resulted in the necessity for the ad hoc repair of the damaged shaft and operational use of the hoist until a new shaft is completed and delivered. The article describes the works related to the preparation and execution of the repair of the shaft as well as the tests that were performed. Sobieski(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2019) Gąska, Roman; Wolny, Zbigniew; Myrlak, Mariusz; Kruk, Marcin; Karpiel, TomaszThe article presents information on changes to the mine shaft hoist in the cage compartment of the «Sobieski III» shaft of Tauron Wydobycie S.A. Z.G. Sobieski. A separate control unit based on MENTOR thyristor converters was installed in the excitation system of the drive motor and control generators, which allowed the replacement of systems that were difficult to operate, e.g. electromechanical amplifier (amplidyne) and the machine exciter of the hoist motor. Additionally, in order to stabilize the speed (especially during revision works in the shaft), the system of setting speed levels of the hoisting machine has been modified. Speed adjustment is realized by a follow-up speed control system built on the basis of a digitally controlled MENTOR reverse converter.
