Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Preliminary study of the possibility to use a mobile measurement rosette for testing horizontal distortions(2009) Ćwiąkała, Paweł; Skulich, Mikołaj; Frukacz, MariuszThe structure and characteristics of a measuring system referred to as the 'mobile measurement rosette' have been presented and the subject of the study using the rosette has been discussed. The system in question allows measurement of horizontal distortion of land subjected to the impacts of mining exploitation. It has to be stressed that horizontal distortions of land in mining areas are among the major indices of deformation describing the impact of mining exploitation on the surface and building structures there on, and studies are still underway as to the problem of continuous measurement and interpretation of results obtained. One of the keys to proper operation of the system is to consider the effect of thermal expansion of the rosette material. The results of laboratory and field tests presented here in indicate the possibility to use the system for measurement of horizontal distortion in areas affected by mining exploitation.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Repetitive measurements of the strain state in the rock mass persistently disturbed by the mining exploitation - focus on the triangular rosette(2010) Ćwiąkała, Paweł; Skulich, Mikołaj; Szafarczyk, AnnaUnderground mining exploitation causes many negative effects on the surface of the mining area. Among the biggest nuisances for the buildings, one should count the arising of squeezing and stretching stress, and the description of the arising deformations is an important element of the safety assessment of the objects on the surface. The measurements and calculations, carried out on measurement rosettes, allow defining strains occurring in the ground in any direction. The article presents the results of the measurements with a triangular measurement rosette situated over the exploited deposit during the whole process of the wall exploitation. The theoretical description to define the surface tensor of strains was also given.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Surveying monitoring of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Inowrocław, located in a mining area, applying reflectorless technologies and precise levelling(2012) Gawałkiewicz, Rafał; Skulich, MikołajThe preservation of the practical and aesthetic functions of objects, especially ones of historic character, located in mining terrains and subdued to the influences of mining exploitation (still carried out or finished), require surveying monitoring. Carried out from 2005 until 2010 in the framework of surveying monitoring, measurements of a historic building – the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Inowrocław, allow the conclusions referring to the character of the changes in the geometry of the solid, caused by technology-originated and exogenous factors in the building. In this article the authors present a description of measurement technology of changes in the geometry of selected elements of the church construction based on the use of reflectorless total station and code leveller.
