Consideration of the specifics of understanding textual communiqués in designing dialogues with a user of an information system

The paper presents a proposal to take into account the language comprehension paradigm in an attempt to improve the design methodology of human-computer dialogues. It is assumed that the user treats a system as a subject, i.e. perceives communication with the system as a kind of discourse and intuitively treats it as cognition of the world through a fixed image of objective linguistic signs. Due to the fact that every end-user of a computer system has an individual linguistic competence, thesaurus, habits, previous experiences, one can never guarantee that identical semantic references arise in a variety of audiences. The situation becomes more stable if one considers the communication aspect of comprehension on the basis of practice (familiarity of things). It may be expected that a qualified professional user will commit fewer errors, caused by a poor dialogue understanding while interacting with the system. Therefore, the main task of a designer is to speed up and facilitate the learning process, which can be achieved by running the process of constructive rational understanding.

Geotechniczne Laboratorium Wirtualne jako informatyczny system zarządzania badaniami geoinżynieryjnymi

This paper presents the research management system using virtual laboratory. This system enables planning, organizing and controlling researches. This system allows to make measurements remotely, monitor, do laboratory research, do analysis of research's results, use of knowledge from database and help cooperate with another research center through Internet. It describes work on the Geotechnical Virtual Laboratory in the Department of Geomechanics, Civil Engineering and Geotechnics at AGH - University of Science and Technology, Cracow. It allows to do research and solve educational problems as well. This paper provides a brief overview of system's structure, its functions, activities, instruments and software within it.

Proposal of information system for the Spiš region

The topic of my thesis is „Proposal of information system for the Spiš region”. In the descriptive part, there are basic information about the region related to culture, natural conditions and present state of tourism. In the proposal part, there is a project to create the touristic information centre for the Spiš region. The work suggests the necessity of project promoting for the purposes of reaching the determined target , i.e. visitor rate increase in the region, development of the region and its services as well as their enhancement.
