    Interkalaty minerałów ilastych i ich reakcja na promieniowanie UV

    The main aim of the thesis was to obtain derivatives of clay minerals by intercalation of the alkyloammonium salts, their futher modification using azobenzene and their reaction to UV radiation. In the experiments tree smectites were tested. In order to determine molecular and structural changes XRD and FTIR analysis were used. An increase of the interlayer space was influenced by the hydrocarbon chain length of the intercalated surfactant. A constant interlayer space of azobenzene intercalates was found. The photoresponse of some azobenzene intercalates was observed. The results were interpreted in the light of available literature and the probable position of azobenzene in the interlayer space was proposed.
