Quasicrystals are built of aperiodic but organized sets of atoms. The last feature leads to the discrete, typical for crystals, diffraction patterns. A method which is commonly used in analysis of the structure of the quasicrystals is multidimensional structure modeling - "cut-and-project". This method assumes quasicrystals to be periodic in higher dimensions. Thesis concentrates on the method which is an alternative to the "cut-and-project" method, i.e. on the statistical method, which operates only in physical space and describes every structure by a distribution function of atoms positions written in relation to a periodic reference lattice. The first part of the thesis focuses on the simplest quasicrystal the Fibonacci chain. The goal of this part is to describe and present in figures the most important features of quasicrystals, i.e. atomic surface, projection strip, clusters, average unit cell, physical and perpendicular space, Patterson analysis and so on. Then, the statistical method is used for a detailed description of freely decorated rhombuses of the Penrose tiling and for the derivation of the structure factor for this tiling. The rhombuses model is also compared to the cluster model for which the structural analysis and derivation of the structure factor is performed as well. The accuracy of the obtained models is verified with the help of the self-written computer program which refines the parameters describing the atomic structure by minimizing the error of the fit between the experimental and calculated diffraction patterns. The last part of the thesis presents the current knowledge of the structure of $Al_{72}Ni_{20}Co_{8}$ alloy and the outcome for the refinement process for this alloy which was got with the help of the statistical model. The results are in a very good agreement with the experimental data.

Master's thesis describe process of production compute cluster based on open source operating system as is Linux. Ready outcome is KVM virtual machine, which could be used to create high performance cluster using disk less node. To deploy this cluster is needed server with processor supporting virtualization and Linux x64 installed. It has to be connected with nodes in one LAN segment. Nodes are booting from main server over TCP/IP network using PXE so they Ethernet card has to support PXE technology. Deployed cluster uses MPICH2 library which is described by MPI standard. In cluster are used many protocols and services like Torque, DHCP, TFTP, DNS, NFS, LDAP.

Evaluating new architectural features of the Intel(r) Xeon(r) 7500 processor for HPC workloads

In this paper we take a look at what the Intel Xeon Processor 7500 family, code named Nehalem-EX, brings to high performance computing. We compare two families of Intel Xeon based systems (Intel Xeon 7500 and Intel Xeon 5600) and present a performance evolution of 16 node clusters based on these CPUs. We compare CPU generations utilizing dual socket platforms and a cluster across a number of HPC benchmarks and focused on different performance field and aspect. We will evaluate also technologies and features like Intels Hyper Threading Technology (HT) and Intel Turbo Boost Technology (Turbo Mode) and the performance implication of these technologies for HPC.

Pojawia się jednak problem związany z transformacją pro-rynkową tych krajów - jak zbudować unikalną, konkurencyjną strategię rozwoju regionu? Pomocnym narzędziem do określenia źródeł tej strategii może się stać analiza historyczna rozwoju łańcucha wartości danego regionu.

W pracy pokazano jak w najprostszy sposób skonfigurować klaster obliczeniowy. W pierwszej kolejności omówiono najważniejsze pojęcia dotyczące klastra: system wsadowy, menedżer zadań – TORQUE, model programowania MPI oraz cykl życia zadania. Następnie opisano krok po kroku jak skonfigurować klaster od podstaw. W tym celu wykorzystano klaster składający się z 3 węzłów. W końcowej części przedstawiono osiągniętą funkcjonalność konfigurowanego klastra.

According to the subject, the dissertation master's thesis is primarily proposed to create an innovative tourist cluster in the Kłodzko region, in the field of spa and religious tourism. Research questions and hypotheses were helpful in the creation of the cluster concept, presentation of the attractiveness of the whole region – including the description of the spa and religious places. In addition, research methods – literature analysis, own observations and oral interviews were used to develop the general characteristics of the area in relation to natural conditions, as well as to discuss tourist terminology.
