    This master thesis presents an assessment of the current environmental impact of a post mining landfill in „Janina” coal mine in Libiąż. A short description of “Janina” coal deposit and detailed characteristic of the landfill site are presented in the thesis. It contains the analysis of samples of greenhouse gases, surface water, groundwater and leachate. Based on the results, it was concluded landfill has a negative impact on the environment. The reclamation of the environment was also described.
