    The quarry of the light Grey sandstones is located in Kunow in commune Ostorwiec Swietokrzyski. Based on field researches carry out in mining working was made macroscopic re-search which was base to make lithologie profile. Afterwards that was made microscopic and physico- mechanical properties of rocks which two varieties of sandstones were assigned based on: fine-grained and very fine-grained. Both of the varieties have siliceous, contact binder what causes the great porosity and the absorbability. In the past this sandstone were used as the building material and sculpting, at present the quarry isn't being exploited. Following examinations can be a ground for extracting Kunow sandstones in other excavations or to help with the conservation made of this raw material.
