Wydział HumanistycznyItem type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Humanizowanie nowoczesności na przykładzie związków miasta i literatury(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2023) Więch, KarolThe article attempts to illustrate three relations between literature and a city. In the first one, the city becomes the content of literature as an inspiration, a reconstructed map, but also an individual experience. In the second, literature initiates creative activities within the city. They are represented by literary sculptures, modifications of residential buildings, as well as interactive applications that reveal the local space in the context of literature. The third relationship narrows down to the international UNESCO program based on the coherence of activities on the border of literary art and marketing. The modern city becomes an open project aimed, in particular, at creating a sense of closeness between the reader-resident-tourist and the urban space. It is an opportunity to create a completely new quality in the experience of literature, but also in its production and distribution where humanization plays a key role in creating and sustaining community.Item type:Thesis, Access status: Restricted , Konstruowanie seksualności w literaturze. Wydział HumanistycznyItem type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Pomiędzy dziełem historycznym a literackim - Vilhelma Moberga tetralogia o szwedzkich emigrantach(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2011) Rak, KamilaThis article examines a tetralogy about the Swedish emigration to North America during the second half of the 19th century, written by Vilhelm Moberg. The tetralogy consists of the following volumes: The Emigrants, Unto a Good Land, The Settlers, and The Last Letter Home (only the first two, The Emigrants and Unto a Good Land have been published in Polish). I present the lives of the fictional characters that are in Moberg’s tetralogy. Due to the repetitive historical references about the Swedish emigration to North America in the 19th century, I also present the lives of some of the real emigrants. Moreover, I describe Moberg’s personal life, his development as a writer and journalist, his involvement in politics, and how he discovered the diaries of Andrew Peterson, a Swedish emigrant. His diaries became very crucial for Moberg while he was working on the tetralogy. Finally, this article tries to demonstrate how important these novels are in Swedish literature and culture.Item type:Thesis, Access status: Restricted , Przegląd literaturowy praktycznych zastosowań regulatorów rozmytych typu II(Data obrony: 2011-09-22) Bubak, Grzegorz

Wydział Fizyki i Informatyki StosowanejItem type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Znaczenie granic jako ograniczeń przestrzennych i wyznaczników tożsamości(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2012) Siwek, EwelinaThe study presents an historical outline of boundaries in views: not only as physical and political barriers, but principally social, economic and imaginative. It is an attempt to understand the role of borders for the migrants. The problem is described on the basis of literature: Key Island written by Margaret Szejnert and A short guide to the crossing of borders, written by Gazmed Kapllani. The first book shows true stories about migrants, who had arrived at Ellis Island and tried a chance at the seaside of United States of America. The second contains a real experience of author, who is a traveler, but first of all a refugee. Travelers and migrants are examples of groups, which are constantly overcoming boundaries - especially cultural barriers, which make it difficult to cohabitate with existing population. For this reason, the articles address a problem of migration in the context of border crossing.
