The Carpathians were covered by seismic experiment CELEBRATION 2000 that initiated work with the problem within this area. Renewed analysis of borehole data, gathering new information together with applying a new estimation methodology respecting paleoclimatic effect, was the first preparatory stage for evaluation of deep lithosphere thermal regime in southern Poland. The outcome maps of temperature and heat flow density in Moho zone characterize thermal regime of the crust and allow research within the range of potential field issues to be continued. Increased values of heat flow and temperature are localized at Nowy Sącz - Krosno zone. Based on the continuous series of observations we determined the changes of absolute and regional velocity of vertical crustal movements, their spatial distribution and relationship with the tectonic structure of the region. We made the maps of regional rates of vertical crustal movements in the period since 2000-2011. It was also investigated seismic activity in Europe during this period. The accumulated research results indicate the necessity for systematic studies of the impact of various geophysical factors on the stability and permanent displacement of plants and their relation to seismic activity.
