Analysis of the potentials of adapting elements of Lean Methodology to the unstable conditions in the mining industry

W artykule przedstawiono analizę możliwości adaptacji elementów metodologii Lean do warunków przemysłu wydobywczego. W pracy przedstawiono wybrane narzędzia i metody Lean stosowane w przemyśle motoryzacyjnym (Just In Time, One Piece Flow, Jidoka, TPM, 5S, Kanban, Heijunka oraz ciągłe doskonalenie). Zaprezentowano także podstawowe różnice między przemysłem motoryzacyjnym a wydobywczym z uwzględnieniem aspektów produkcyjnych oraz organizacji pracy w obu tych gałęziach gospodarki. Przedstawiono także wstępną propozycję adaptacji narzędzi i metod Lean do niestabilnych procesów wytwórczych przemysłu wydobywczego. Opracowano także zestawienie obrazujące możliwości wykorzystania w konkretnych miejscach elementów metodologii Lean.

Approach to solving mining machine selection problem by using grey theory

The selection of a mining machine is a multiple-attribute problem that involves the consideration of numerous parameters of various origins. A common task in the mining industry is to select the best machine among several alternatives, which are frequently described both with numerical variables as well as linguistic variables. Numerical variables are mostly related to the technical characteristics of the machines, which are available in detail in most cases. On the other hand, some equally important parameters such as price, reliability, support for service and spare parts, operating cost, etc., are not available at the required level for various reasons, hence, these can be considered uncertain information. For this reason, such information is described with linguistic variables.This paper presents research related to overcoming this problem by using grey theory for selecting a proper mining machine. Grey theory is a well-known method used for multiple-attribute selection problems that involves a system in which parts of the necessary information are known and parts are unknown.

W artykule przedstawiono koncepcję profilu kompetencji, jego definicję oraz różnice pomiędzy kompetencjami a kwalifikacjami i uprawnieniami. Przedstawiono etapy wdrożenia zarządzania kompetencjami w kopalni oraz opisano proces definiowania oceny kompetencji. Streszczono sposób rekrutacji i selekcji pracowników w kopalni dokonywanej w oparciu o istniejące charakterystyki stanowisk pracy oraz wynikające z dokumentów kwalifikacje pracowników. Następnie przedstawiono przykład zdefiniowania kompetencji technika górnika w oparciu o klasyfikację zawodów i specjalności. Dokonano podziału na kompetencje indywidualne i specyficzne występujące w kopalni oraz zaprezentowano metody, które powinny zostać wykorzystane do szczegółowych opisów kompetencji.

Idea of adaptation value stream mapping method to the conditions of the mining industry

W artykule przedstawiono koncepcję adaptacji metody mapowania strumienia wartości VSM (Value Stream Mapping) do warunków przemysłu wydobywczego. Metoda VSM była dotychczas powszechnie stosowana głównie w przemyśle motoryzacyjnym i przedsiębiorstwach stricte produkcyjnych. Wywodzi się z systemu produkcyjnego Toyoty (Toyota Production System TPS). W pracy podjęto próbę zdefiniowania pojęcia wartości i marnotrawstwa dla uwarunkowań panujących w kopalni miedzi. Metoda, którą poddano analizie pozwala na odwzorowanie przepływu materiału i informacji w systemie produkcyjnym. Przez strumień wartości należy rozumieć wszystkie czynności - zarówno dodające, jak i nie dodające wartości, które konieczne są przeprowadzenia produktu lub usługi przez główne przepływy wartości. Istotą mapowania strumienia wartości jest dostrzeżenie przepływu oraz marnotrawstwa, a także jego źródeł w strumieniu wartości. W pracy przedstawiono koncepcję algorytmu zbierania danych i dokonywania pomiarów, który pozwala na opracowanie mapy stanu obecnego. Zaprezentowano także przykład podziału operacji wykonywanych w kopalni na dodające i nie dodające wartości oraz porównanie potencjalnych przykładów występowania marnotrawstwa w kopalni z siedmioma podstawowymi typami marnotrawstwa występującymi w przemyśle motoryzacyjnym.

In ZG »Piekary« there was a necessity to undertake a binding cross-cut 1 in the seam 506 through the Andaluzia Fall Zone in the range of the mining area »Brzeziny IV« and »Rozbark II«. In order to avoid several problems and to increase safety during undergoing the cross-cut through tectonically distributed zone, there was designed advancing by cementation, sealing and firming of a rock mass in front of its head, using injectory holes drilled by drills.

The occurring mineral water in KWK »Piast« cause corrosion of the excavations' lining. Because of that it is necessary to rebuild these dog headings. In order to increase safety during rebuilding dog headings junctions, there were applied forthcoming injectory firming the rock mass in its surrounding, which prevents from occurring the fall of rocks and from the results of these fallings. In the paper there was presented an exemplary technology of headings junctions rebuilding in KWK »Piast«.

The occurring mineral water in KWK »Piast« cause a corrosion of the excavations lining. Because of that it is necessary to rebuild these dog headings. In order to increase safety during rebuilding crossing of excavations there were applied forthcoming injectory firming of the rock mass in its surrounding, which prevents from occurring the fall of rocks and from the results of these fallings. In the paper there was presented an example of crossing rebuilding technology from a lining LP to the crossing of the POLYTRAB type in the Heintzmann Company in KWK »Piast«.

The occurring mineral water in KWK »Piast« cause corrosion of the excavations' lining. In order to increase safety during rebuilding of dog headings' forks forthcoming injectory firming of the rock mass in its surrounding were applied, which prevents from occurring the fall of rocks and from the results of these fallings. An exemplary technology of fork rebuilding in KWK »Piast« at the level of 500 m was presented in the paper.

The subject of archeology is the research of excavations and finds, as well as studies on the surviving elements of the historical landscape. They provide information on aspects of past human activity, especially with regard to economy and the technology of producing tools and consumer goods. Research concerning prehistory and the history of mining stirs particular interest. Today, the cooperation between mining engineering and mining archeology casts new light on the thousands of years of the mining civilization's existence, on the great skills of acquiring and processing raw materials, on mining technologies applied in old mines. Over thousand-year-long history of mankind, mining has always initiated technological progress. Also, many villages and towns owe their establishment to mining. Due to research in the field of mining archeology, many secrets related to ancient mining are still being uncovered.

This master’s thesis is concentrated on natural and industrial aspects of the commune of Jaworzno. Environmental conditions of the city determine direction of the development of urban planning. The first part include mineral resources, energy industry and environmental pollution informations. Second part presents strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of the city with respect to SWOT analysis. The last part consider the topic in more details and shows conclusion about direction of the urban planning connected to environmental conditions. Urban planning should be concentrated on energy industry and completed by geotourism.

The article presents the sector of brown coal in Poland on the basis of active mines. The capabilities to satisfy country energy demands, with use of own natural resources, take into consideration also economic factors and safely of energy supplies. Sector development secures alternative employment for thousands professionally active people as well. Lignite as the cheapest fuel, giving guarantee of energy safety for long years, is a leading motto of this paper. In connection with research and development, as well as production possibilities, it makes the optimum offer for Polish power industry.

In order to safely reinforce and perform the movement of the wall 375-1353 in the seam 209 in KWK »Piast«, injectory firming of the seam before its face was designed. Applying the injectory firming of the wall's face eliminated movement of loose rocks from the cutting, and the roof to the wall's cross-cut during reinforcing and starting of the wall, and as a result of that the aim of work was achieved.
