    The article presents a short discussion referring to selected directions photogrammetry is following. Many new approaches in obtaining and processing digital images, their mutual combination and direct georeferencing create new possibilities in their application. Making photogrammetric measurements automatic has been included into basic studies for many years. However, despite long-lasting efforts the level expected at the beginning, when photogrammetric measurements has not been achieved. Our expectation for the future are photogrammetric measurements made in real time and satisfactory results obtained on request.
