Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Deformation of unstable slope at the reservoir dam Nová Bystrica(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2010) Kopecký, Miloslav; Hruštinec, L'uboš; Ondrášik, Martin; Frankovská, JanaWater reservoir Nova Bystrica is located in the northern part of Slovakia, about 6 kilometers southward of the border with Poland and serves to supply the population with drinking water. Two landslides (slope deformations) have affected a slope adjacent to the water reservoir dam. The distance between the dam left-hand side and the landslides is about 250 m. The first landslide is active; its toe extends to the reservoir water and has destroyed the forest road. The second slope deformation, which is considerably larger than the first one, is a block deformation allocated above the forest road. In the contribution, basing on the ongoing monitoring the authors described the stability of both landslides. According to the slope stability calculations they also analyzed the activity of both landslides and forecasted their further development with regard to the operation of the water reservoir itself. In conclusions there are recommendations for further monitoring of both slope deformations and also there are suggests for additional research works.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Geotechnical monitoring and mathematical modelling in medieval mine Jeroným (Czech Republic)(2007) Hrubešová, Eva; Kaláb, Zdeněk; Kořinek, Robert; Žůrek, PetrIn this paper, methods of the geotechnical monitoring and results of the first stage of mathematical modelling in the Medieval Mine Jeroným in Czech Republic are presented. The mathematical modelling for the determination of stress-strain conditions and stability state in the six sections of the mine room K2 was realized by Plaxis programming system.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Metody instrumentacji i monitoringu powierzchniowych ruchów masowych na przykładzie wybranych osuwisk w Karpatach (Beskid Niski, Średni i Pogórze)(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2008) Bednarczyk, ZbigniewPresented paper is based on mass movement investigations conducted by the author on twenty-four flysch landslides in Beskid Niski, Średni Mts. and Pogórze. Research financed by European Investment Bank was conducted for the purpose of landslide counteraction, for the roads and infrastructure safeguarding. Inside the project engineering geological reports and landslide instrumentation were prepared. Monitoring network included ground movement, water level and pore pressure transducers. Control monitoring measurements conducted in years 2005-2007 allowed landslide dynamic, depth and activating factors prediction together with instrumentation and monitoring circumstances. Obtained data were partly used in counteraction projects design and control. Decision of stabilization methods often are chosen without instrumentation and monitoring and could cased ineffective decision of stabilization possibilities and methods.
