Explosive cladding allows, first of all, to join materials that we are not able to join with other methods. The paper shows microstructural studies of ten-layer plating composed of three materials: Armco iron, Ti Gr. 1 and Al 1050. Each of the materials is discussed in terms of its advantages and its use is justified. The methodology of multi-layer material testing was also shown. First of all, the impact of explosive welding on the thickness of each layer is sported, as well as the results of measurements of the basic parameters of the clad joint are displayed. The RGP factor was also determined, which allowed to determine the quality of the connection made. The following section presents the results of microstructure tests, which show the characteristics of the explosive welded joint. Finally, a possible application of such plater is showed.
