Wydział Geologii, Geofizyki i Ochrony ŚrodowiskaNNTE (neutron-neutron thermal-epithermal) is a unique borehole logging tool designed for determination of macroscopic thermal neutron absorption cross-section ?, using the chemical neutron source. The aim of this thesis is to apply Monte Carlo simulation to model the response of NNTE tool in various rock-tool configurations. Borehole size is one of the factors affecting the reading of nuclear tools. In this thesis effect of borehole size has been investigated. A response of NNTE tool in pure sandstone saturated with fresh water was modeled using MCNP transport code.
