Item type:Thesis, Access status: Restricted , Analiza pracy stacji usuwania związków azotu z wód podziemnych na ujęciu Wierzchowisko(Data obrony: 2011-09-27) Mazur, Agnieszka
Wydział Geologii, Geofizyki i Ochrony ŚrodowiskaIn the groundwaters there is a growing concentration of nitrates. The source of excessive nitrate concentrations in groundwater is mainly irrational and increased fertilization in agriculture, as well as the unorganized sewage systems. Nitrates can be removed from water by heterotrophic denitrification, ion exchange or reverse osmosis. On 4 April 2006 has been launched the first water treatment plant through biological heterotrophic denitrification. The aim of this study was to analyze and evaluate the work of Water Treatment Plant for biological nitrate removal at Wierzchowisko. During the study, there has been demonstrated the stations high efficiency in removing nitrogen compounds using biological denitrification. This will cause, that it will be competitive with more expensive and less effective methods.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Azotany w wodach jurajskiego piętra wodonośnego w rejonie Olkusza(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2010) Żurek, Anna J.; Czop, Mariusz; Motyka, JacekJurassic aquifer represents the Major Groundwater Basin (MGWB) 326 which is located in Upper Jurassic carbonate rocks. The hydrodynamic conditions in the Jurassic aquifer are very complex, with different types of hydraulic connections with neighbouring aquifers. Therefore the quality of the Jurassic aquifer has affected groundwater quality in Quaternary and Triassic rocks. Nitrates have been the main indicator of groundwater contamination. The regime of springs located in the study area (high fluctuation of discharge and temperature) indicates local drainage. The quality of spring-water has reflected the land use of spring recharge area. The chemistry of deep well-water has shown the quality variation of regional flow system water. Nitrate variability in spring-water (period 2001-2008) and in well-water (1995-2007) has indicated the regional trends of groundwater quality changes in the Jurassic aquifer near Olkusz.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Electrochemical behavior of tellurium in acidic nitrate solutions(2014) Rudnik, Ewa; Biskup, PrzemysławElectrochemistry of tellurium stationary electrode was studied in acidic nitrate solutions with pH 1.5 – 3.0. Cyclic voltammetry indicated that two products were formed at potentials above 300 mV (SCE): soluble $HTeO_{2}^{+}$ (500 mV) and sparingly soluble $H_{2}TeO_{3}$ (650 mV), but the former seemed to be an intermediate product for $TeO_{2}$ precipitation on the electrode surface. Formation of the solid products as porous layers was almost undisturbed and no electrode passivation was observed. $H_{2}TeO_{3}$ and $TeO_{2}$ dissolved to $HTeO_{2}^{+}$ under acidic electrolyte, but this process was hindered by pH increase. Cathodic polarization of tellurium electrode below -800 mV was accompanied by evolution of $H_{2}Te$, which was then oxidized at the potentials approx. -700 mV. $H_{2}Te$ generated in the electrochemical reaction decomposed to elemental tellurium as black powdery precipitates in the bulk of the solution and a bright film drifting on the electrolyte surface.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Electrodeposition of silver from nitrate-tartrate solutions(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2018) Rudnik, EwaThe electrodeposition of silver from AgNO3 solutions with the addition of L-tartaric acid was investigated. The cathodic reaction was accompanied by low electrode polarization and run under activation control for AgNO3 concentrations of above 70 mM. Tartaric acid only slightly shifted the polarization curves towards more electronegative potentials (by approx. 50 mV), but it did not change the rate-determining step. The activation control of the process resulted in the formation of rough and coherent deposits, while the mixed or diffusion control of the process promoted the formation of dendritic-like structures and spongy deposits.
Metodyka obejmowała badania terenowe, laboratoryjne i modelowe. Wykonane zestawienia analiz wody wykazały miejsca występowania zanieczyszczeń antropogenicznych oraz ich zmiany w czasie. Model hydrodynamiczny opracowano z wykorzystaniem nowoczesnego oprogramowania Visual MODFLOW. Po zweryfikowaniu modelu hydrodynamiczny rejonu Słupska, określono warunki hydrodynamiczne badanego obszaru oraz miejsca występowania zanieczyszczeń antropogenicznych z uwzględnieniem kierunków przepływu wód podziemnych.Item type:Thesis, Access status: Restricted , Ocena stopnia narażenia gleb wybranych placów zabaw w Krakowie na zanieczyszczenia pochodzenia zwierzęcego(Data obrony: 2014-10-29) Bolibok, Wioletta
Wydział Geologii, Geofizyki i Ochrony ŚrodowiskaThe dissertation attempts to estimate the pollution on the playgrounds area caused by animals and the effects it has on people, especially children In animals feces there are multiple pathogens i.a. parasite or protozoa. Samples of soil and sand from the area of districts: XV-Mistrzejowice oraz XVI-Bieńczyce in Kraków have been collected. The researches was conducted during the fall and spring time, when the weather conditions enabled usage of all the equipment available on the playgrounds. Scrutiny of samples in question was performed using the indirect method by determining the nitrate content using Kjedahla method. The presence of these compounds in the soil may indicate contamination of zoonoses.Item type:Thesis, Access status: Restricted , Wpływ zagospodarowania terenu na jakość jurajskiego piętra wodonośnego w okolicach Olkusza(Data obrony: 2018-10-30) Środa, Mateusz
Wydział Geologii, Geofizyki i Ochrony ŚrodowiskaW pracy przedstawiono wpływ zagospodarowania terenu na jakość wód podziemnych jurajskiego piętra wodonośnego w okolicach Olkusza. Analiza morfologii terenu, warunków hydrogeologicznych i zagospodarowania obszaru spływu do ujęcia pozwoliła na zaklasyfikowanie źródeł do poszczególnych rodzajów zagospodarowania powierzchni terenu. Badania własne oraz archiwalne wykorzystano do scharakteryzowania wód z poszczególnych typów zagospodarowania terenu oraz do określenia aktualnego stanu chemicznego wód podziemnych oraz tendencji zmian stężenia azotanów w czasie.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Wykorzystanie metody chromatografii gazowej do oceny procesu denitryfikacji w wodach triasowego zbiornika wód podziemnych rejonu Opola(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2010) Żurek, Anna J.; Mochalski, PawełThe studied aquifer - Major Groundwater Basin (MGWB) 333 is located near Opole in Muschelkalk carbonate rocks. The hydrological conditions of the investigated area are determined by monoclinal structure of the geological formations. On the outcrop of the Muschelkalk formation, the aquifer is unconfined and the recharge rate and conductivity are relatively high. In the northern part of the aquifer, which is covered with a confining unit of the Keuper formation, the average hydraulic conductivity and the flow velocity decrease. Nitrates have been the main indicator of groundwater contamination. The high NO3 concentrations which are observed in the outcrop area decrease significantly in the zone near the border of the Kauper extent. There are two main reasons of the nitrate concentration decline: denitrification process and groundwater age. Denitrification was identified using data on dissolved gas concentrations which were detected and quantified by gas chromatographic method. The expected denitrification effects have been observed in the samples from transitional zone of the Triassic aquifer.
