Hitherto achievements of Polish mines in the fields of reclamation and revitalization are also described. The main focus of the article has been put on presenting different directions of reclamation used in the lignite mining industry. A picture of post mining terrains on which reclamation is conducted on an European level emerges from the article. These terrains now serve the inhabitants for recreation and significantly improve the attractiveness of surrounding regions.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Metoda oceny możliwości prowadzenia odkrywkowej działalności górniczej oddziałującej na obszary Natura 2000(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2011) Ptak, MirandaThe development of opencast mining today and in the upcoming years will depend on the ability to solve conflicts connected with the impact of the exploitation on Natura 2000 areas. This new form of environmental protection, which was introduced into the national system on May 1, 2004, makes it necessary to include protective actions in mining projects to maintain the proper condition of natural habitats and of protected animal and plant habitats. The article presents the essence of the protection of Natura 2000 areas together with assumptions for the developed method of deposit classification - KZN200/mAHP. Simultaneously the article presents chosen deposits, exploitation of which affects Natura 2000 areas.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Możliwości zaspokojenia popytu na wysokowydajne krajowe maszyny podstawowe dla przyszłych potrzeb górnictwa węgla brunatnego(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2010) Wocka, NorbertThe possibilities of meeting the demands for open pit mining machinery stock produced in Poland was described in the paper. Both forecast and constant percent fraction of lignite mines in the country energy balance was included. In a particularly way the need of preparation for production and beginning of preliminary design of high capacity bucket wheel excavator KWK4000 (100000 $m^{3}$ per day) was discussed. The ability of excavator collaboration with already running in PGE KWB Bełchatów Polish spreader ZGOT-15400 was pointed out. The PGE KWB Bełchatów experience in exploitation of open cast mining systems with high capacity over 100000 $m^{3}$ per day was pointed out.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Ocena zmian odpływu w zlewni rzeki Widawki w roku hydrologicznym 2010 pod wpływem oddziaływania inwestycji górniczo-energetycznej w rejonie Bełchatowa(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2011) Wachowiak, Grzegorz; Galiniak, Grzegorz; Jończyk, Waldemar; Martyniak, RenataChanges in water conditions (surface and groundwater) are one of the important elements of the impact of open pit lignite mining and associated energy production on the environment. In this article, the authors characterize (for the hydrological year 2010) the impact of the mine and power station »Belchatow« on the river runoff in the catchment of Widawka river. This influence is manifested primarily by providing the hydrographic network with drainage water coming from the mine, by flow-reducing influence of the depression cone, as well as by abstractions for the power station. The analysis of changes in the outflow was based on the determination of river flows (actual and reconstructed as in natural conditions) and on the size of anthropogenic factors.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Praktyka sozotechniczna w działalności górniczej KWB »Sieniawa«(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2011) Galiniak, Grzegorz; Bik, Andrzej; Jarosz, JerzyLignite Mine »Sieniawa« is the only mine in Poland, which extracted lignite using both underground and open pit method. The latter extraction is carried out until present day. The effects of the lignite mining process are most evident in transformation of the landscape, and therefore systematic approach to the rehabilitation of brownfield sites is a very important element of the mine's environmental policy. Lignite Mine »Sieniawa« may serve as an example of such correct approach to the sozological and sozotechnical problems encountered in open pit mining.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , The reclamation of post-mining areas of Lubuski Region (Poland) on example of Sieniawa Lignite Mine(2012) Galiniak, Grzegorz; Bik, AndrzejKWB Sieniawa jest jedną z najstarszych w Polsce kopalń, która eksploatowała węgiel brunatny metodą podziemną oraz metodą odkrywkową. W artykule autorzy przedstawiają i charakteryzują dotychczasowe doświadczenia i przebieg procesu rekultywacji o kierunku leśnym terenów poeksploatacyjnych powstałych wskutek działalności Kopalni Węgla Brunatnego Sieniawa.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Wybrane problemy związane z rekultywacją wyrobisk w kierunku wodnym(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2010) Różkowski, Kazimierz; Polak, Krzysztof; Cała, MarekReclamation of post mining areas is a complicated process of restore degraded areas to natural environment. Correctly leading of this process in long time perspective restore the natural conditions. Moreover it enriches the natural environment, improves landscape quality and biodiversity. These potential advantages could be realised by water reclamation especially on areas where hydrographic network is not well developed. Multifunction reservoirs are also expected by local society. Selected problems connected with environmental conditions of water reclamation are focused in the paper.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Zastosowanie naziemnej fotogrametrii cyfrowej do aktualizacji mapy numerycznej w odkrywkowych zakładach górniczych(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2009) Gawin, AnnaOne of the basic tasks of surveying mining services in outcast mining is performing geodesy works related to the construction, expansion and movement of a mine, including surveying the taken overburden and mined mineral. Close-range photogrammetry is a method that allows the periodical surveying of exploited mining opencasts to be performed quickly and in a safe way. It is used in PGE KWB »Bełchatów« SA from the middle 70s of the last century. However, the analytical photogrammetry used so far, based on analogue solutions, is not sufficient anymore. Considering economic factors, technological development and work ergonomics in mining surveying, some activities has been performed, aiming at implementing new surveying methods to update digital opencast model in PGE KWB »Bełchatów« SA. In 2005, the Department of Surveying started the new technology implementation program, using terrestrial digital pictures and digital workstations to perform photogrammetric measurements. This paper presents the technological process and the results of the research related to the possibility of using digital photogrammetry for opencast mining purposes in the scope of numerical map updating.
