    Przestrzenna analiza zawartości metali ciężkich w osadach korytowych Małej Panwi (metodą GIS)

    Channel sediments of the Mała Panew River contain very high concentration of heavy metals, mainly: Zn, Cd and Pb. Environmental factors which may have controlled it are: length of river transport, distances: from mouth of very polluted tributary – the Stoła River, from rural areas, form industrial areas and from forest areas. Spatial (GIS) analysis was used here for searching and examining relationships between spatial factors and the distribution of metals. Correlation was tested between values of the distances red from the digital maps of spatial factors and metals content in the samples. Two first factors (length of river transport, distance from mouth of tributary – the Stoła River) are proved to have the strongest impact on the distribution of heavy metals. This factors were applied in modeling based on Multiple Criteria Evaluation (Linear Weighted Average). The final model – maps of distribution of heavy metals in channel sediments of the Mała Panew River are very highly correlated (R = 0.86 for Zn, R = 0.78 for Cd, R = 0.92 for Pb) with laboratory data.
