Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Wykorzystanie palmtopów w pracach geodezyjnych prowadzących do powstania mapy numerycznej(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2006) Beluch, Józef; Krzyżek, RobertPalmtop is a versatile electronic instrument applied to field works and used as a peripheral electronic device for surveying instruments: tachimeters, receivers of signals in GPS-RTK mode etc. Fundamentally its role is a recorder of archival data as benchmark co-ordinates or scanned and calibrated maps but also as a recorder of data information obtained at field works. It allows further numeric processing of mentioned above information and its visualisation. It is possible to use it for preliminary stage of numeric map creation. Recorded survey data (e.g. in *.mmp format for iPAQ H3850 palmtop) can be transmitted by proper software (for iPAQ H3850 palmtop is ActiveSync software) to any computer, where following software leads to realize a numeric map. The elaboration presents practical experience of the authors in palmtop applications.
