    The objective of this thesis is provide conception of the parabolic trough collector system (PTSC) as a technology producing thermal energy and electricity. In first steps of this work design and idea of “concentrating solar power” systems was described. Technology consists in focusing sunlight at one point or line (pipe) where under a high temperature fluid change into steam and because of high pressure steam can generate electricity or the thermal fluid can be directly used to provide the hot water. All types of CSP systems and localizations of installed power plants all over the world was presented in thesis. The generated power, energy and finally efficiency was calculated in polish climatic conditions. The best localization and angle of the collector was defined basic on polish latitude, and zenith angle including solar radiation.
