    Bogs in Orawa-Nowy Targ Basin are the largest and most valuable complex of bogs in southern Poland. The surface of primeval bogs has shrunk as a result of extensive peat extraction in the years 1940-1990 and absence of adequate land management. At present, there are 30 bogs in the basin, which individual area range from 5,5 ha to 660 ha. Presented work, conducted on four selected bogs, is aimed to propose the best technical and non-technical methods of restoration, considering the multi-functional importance and unique ecological value of these bogs. In this work it has been proposed ways of drainage network modification leading to the saturation of these bogs.
