    Analiza ekologiczna inwestycji w odnawialne źródła energii w gminie Wierzchosławice

    Wierzchosławice is a rural administrative district in Tarnów County, Lesser Poland Voivodeship in southern Poland. The thesis contains the ecological analysis of the investment in renewable energy sources in this area. The main aim of the thesis was to present the analysis from the ecological viewpoint. The study concerns a photovoltaic farm in Wierzchosławice with the power of 1 MW. The analysis contains the assessment of the influence on environment as well as the estimation of ecological effect. In 2012 photovoltaic farm produced 1003 MWh of electrical energy making the same a substantial ecological effect of reduction of CO2 and other pollution emission. Wierzchosławice focuses not only on solar energy development but on some works to utilize geothermal energy and hydropower as well. Wierzchosławice has been promoted in nationwide contest “Gmina of the Future” for the use of renewable energy. The promotion of alternative energy sources is an essential factor that has an impact on the area development, ecological awareness of people, and it increases tourist attractiveness of the region.
