The aim of the MSc Thesis was to conduct a seismic interpretation using well logs, rock physics models, analyzing cross plots and statistical methods (PDF's) that were used to deliver probability volumes of predicted lithology. The subject of the study were well log data and pre-stack seismic data from Yttergryta (Norwegian Sea) gas deposit. The results obtained from pre-stack inversion and volumes of most probable facies provided an opportunity to confirm the occurrence of gas accumulation at the well location and in neighboring areas. Results confirms the thesis that the simultaneous use of multiple tools to conduct quantitative seismic interpretation allows to obtain much better results than the conventional approach.
