In this region tectonic stresses can be intensified by other stresses which have occurred owing to mining exploitation. To obtain the most valuable information on this relation leading to its plausible interpretation, it seems to be purposeful and advisable to apply geodynamical investigation. However, such a kind of investigation belongs to a long-term one, and its interpretation is relatively difficult owing to the fact that the area is under the intensive mining exploitation resulting in large dislocation and mining damage. That is why the geodynamical investigation in such troublesome region, despite the use of a high-tech GPS method, should be additionally developed by making detailed geological inspection and seismological research. Moreover, a geological survey should be done with great accuracy in the region of mining activity because it plays a key role in a complex interpretation based on obtained data. In the paper preliminary results of GPS measurements taken from 8 survey points are presented. Subject of the measurements was the pipeline located on several stores. Therefore, particular attention was drawn to determining the location of the test points of the pipeline and difficulties involved proper selection of the reference system and height system.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Selected geometric aspects of planning and analysis of measurement results of tall building structures using interferometric radar(2014) Kuras, Przemysław; Ortyl, ŁukaszGround-based radar interferometry is a technique which has been used for several years to measure displacements. The IBIS-S system, which is the result of the practical implementation of this technique, allows us to measure position changes of the observed points, for example, on tall building structures. This article presents practical issues associated with planning displacement measurements of tall building structures. The influence of the SNR coefficient on the efficiency and accuracy of the measurements has been discussed. A lot of attention was paid to the geometric parameters of the measurement, i.e. the range resolution, the projection factor and the characteristics of antennas, as well as to a need to take them into account at the observation planning stage. Also, interdependencies between the parameters of the radar operation in a dynamic mode were determined. The authors also highlight a necessity of converting radial displacements into the real ones, which are often occurring during the observation of tall structures, and the resulting problems.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , System ciągłego monitoringu przemieszczeń i deformacji wyrobisk górniczych w PGE KWB Bełchatów SA - aspekt funkcjonalny i dokładnościowy(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2010) Karsznia, Krzysztof; Czarnecki, Leopold; Stawowy, LucjanThe exploitation of a brown coal deposit by using the open-pit method can generate various problems and threats coming from mining works bounded with accessing the successive levels. In the case of an open-cut mine, to the most dangerous problems belong land slides, especially of a multi-slope shape and appearing in an unpredictable and uncontrolled way. In the article a modern technical solution used for surface deformations monitoring by applying technical solutions of Leica Geosystems was presented. To geodetic and geotechnical data integration it was used a monitoring and control software »GeoMoS« (Geodetic Monitoring System) which - if properly configured and calibrated - makes it possible to execute measurement cycles of control points.
