They can be found in the number of titles of newspapers and magazines, radio contests and, in particular, in television game shows. Nowadays quizzes are also more and more observable in virtual space. Virtual quizzes, however, avoid an attempt of a simple definition, e.g. due to the genre differences present in other media. After the adoption of the media studies and historical perspective in this article, two media environments – television and the Internet – were presented, in which quizzes had an opportunity to achieve a popularity. The market of the internet quizzes and its typology were also characterized.
