Item type:Thesis, Access status: Restricted , Badania georadarowe na terenach eksploatacji górniczej dla celów budownictwa w rejonie Spodka w Katowicach(Data obrony: 2011-07-15) Mazurek, Ewelina
Wydział Geologii, Geofizyki i Ochrony ŚrodowiskaThe formation of void spaces of geological body on mining areas is common reason for terrain surface deformation. Buildings, located on such terrains, can be damaged or even destructed. The aim of this thesis is to research subsurface rock layers in the area of closed coal mine „Katowice”, for finding possible void spaces of orogeny - which can imperil residence of The Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra. The researches are based on the Ground Penetrating Radar Method. The radargram analyses show that there are no deformations which can endanger planned construction investment.Item type:Thesis, Access status: Restricted , Badania gruntu w rejonie katastrofy budowlanej w Szczygłowicach za pomocą metody GPR(Data obrony: 2010-09-01) Stopa, Monika
Wydział Geologii, Geofizyki i Ochrony ŚrodowiskaThe thesis presents the application of the GPR method in evaluation of the range of near surface effects of subsidence through caused by the fall of the ventilation shaft and present attempt of localization of sinkholes that may exist in the rock mass around the fallen shaft. On September 4th 2008, a hoist tower of the ventilation shaft V fell in together with surrounding buildings. The ventilation shaft was filled in uncontrolled way. As a result, a subsidence through around the shaft was formed. It had a diameter of 68 meters, which was observed on the surface. Five days after the accident, GPR measurements were taken with the use of 50 MHz antennas. The measurements were later completed with 200 MHz antennae. One of the GPR profile showed the borders of the disturbed zone. That zone ran between fallen shaft V and the nearby shaft VI. Other GPR profiles did not reveal borders of disturbed zone.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Określanie głębokości elementów podziemnych metodą georadarową(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2005) Sołtys, MarianThe paper discusses essential factors influencing the range of depth determination with GPR, including instrument features and chosen parameters of penetrated medium. Interrelations between instrument factors and measurement parameters pertained to: antenna frequency, size and depth of the object to be located, sampling frequency, time window selection and velocity of electromagnetic waves in the penetrated ground. Geometric principles of depth determination are presented and accuracy of processed radargrams is assessed.
