Strategie konstytuowania siebie w relacji z miejscem poprzez opowieść – na przykładzie Nowohuckiej telenoweli Renaty Radłowskiej(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2025) Mus-Frosik, MalwinaThe narrative analysis of 19 reports that make up the collection Nowohucka telenowela by Renata Radłowska shows how builders and the first inhabitants of Nowa Huta use stories to construct their “narrative identity” in relation to the place. The theoretical foundation of the presented research is Mieke Bal’s narratology, which assumes the tripartite structure of narrative texts (text, story, and plot). The stories written by the reporter contain the same (or similar) story, but each represents a separate narrative text. Analyzing their specificity leads to conclusions about the intentions and status of the protagonists. For the witnesses and participants in the construction of Nowa Huta, storytelling becomes an act of emancipation from “presumed identities” – images projected by the ideologists of the Polish People’s Republic or socially functioning stereotypes. The research findings may complement the factual history of the beginnings of Nowa Huta.
