    The aim of the article is to present an analysis of some restructuring fields and a depth of changes in one of Polish die forging factories in economic and transformation time conditions in 1989-2004. The other goal is to point out a source of the success of the firm and its dangers.

    Restrukturyzacja i prywatyzacja polskiego sektora gazowniczego w obliczu jego liberalizacji

    This paper presents an analysis of transformations in gas sector under current EU regulations, Polish law and government programs accepted for implementation since 1996, when after the transformation of state-owned enterprise PGNiG the joint stock company Polskie Górnictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo (PGNiG) S. A. fully owned by state, has been established. The paper contains analysis of subsequent restructuring programs including organizational transformation and privatization. It also refers to EU legal acts and amended Energy Laws Act. The paper attempts to evaluate the transformations implemented as a result of government programs and laws.

    Zasoby węgla kamiennego w GZW w latach 1991-2005

    The restructuring of coal mining in the Upper Silesian Coal Basin caused considerable changes in the structure and size of bituminous coal resources. The decrease of geological, recoverable, developed and non-developed resources and the increase of non-recoverable resources has been showed. In the years 1991-2005 geological resources decreased of ca 21 mld Mg, recoverable resources of ca 23 mld Mg, developed resources of over 10 mld Mg and non-developed resources of over 12 mld Mg. In the same time there has been an increase of the non-recoverable resources. The size of resources in undeveloped deposits became real and amount increased to 18.6 mld Mg. Main influence on the decrease had the classifications and strikes off the registry.
