    The thesis presents the possibility of using the gravimetric method for identifying loose zone in the river embankments. The primary technique inspect the shafts are drilling of boreholes and laboratory analysis of samples taken from holes. Geotechnical methods provide only the information point about the technical condition of the test shaft. For large distances between boreholes are information poor. Good complement to the geotechnical methods can be gravimetric method, which provides continuous information about loose zones the levee between points. The paper presents results of studies conducted of the river embankments Potok Kościelnicki.
