Recording dynamic phenomenas let assume, that seismic activity in the region were shown by the exploitation and regional tremors. The analysis of the stress field and the failure zone in the longwall B-1 area proved that one group of tremors were connected with mining factors and the second one with rock mass movements on the fault surface.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Badania zasięgu i intensywności strefy spękań wokół chodnikowych wyrobisk korytarzowych(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2009) Kabiesz, Józef; Patyńska, RenataIn the Carboniferous stratified rock mass there occur discontinuity systems coupled to its lithologic structure and the structural features of rocks. The formation of an opening causes the cracks to part, which frequently leads to the essential degradation of the rock mass strength parameters around the opening. Changes in the rock mass properties around the excavation can be of the highest importance to the selection of its proper support, as well to the assessment of maintenance requirements, hazards occurring in its vicinity, rock mass imperviousness, etc. The problem of the fracture distribution around excavations has been confined to the characteristic of natural fractures. The rock fracture distribution has been investigated and assessed based on the in situ performed studies of endoscopic bore-holes and on the aerometric measurements. From the obtained results of the analysis and the existing rock mass classifications, the fracture characteristics of the surroundings of the excavations under study are presented and, for example, the rock mass imperviousness classification needed for their use in the formation of underground storage facilities to store gases and liquids is given.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Changes of some of the mechanical properties of rocks and rock mass in conditions of mining exploitation and mine workings flooding(2012) Bukowski, Przemysław; Bukowska, MirosławaEksploatacja górnicza powoduje wpływy w obrębie górotworu, które przejawiają się jego destrukcją i odwodnieniem. Procesy te oddziałują na właściwości skał górotworu powodując ich zmianę, zmianę stanu zagrożeń naturalnych i warunków prowadzenia robót górniczych. Odwadnianie górotworu prowadzi do wzrostu wartości parametrów wytrzymałościowych skał, które ponownie mogą się zmniejszyć na przykład. pod wpływem nasycania ich wodą w procesie zatapiania wyrobisk górniczych. W artykule przedstawiono współzależności zmian warunków geomechanicznych i hydrogeologicznych zachodzących w górotworze pod wpływem eksploatacji górniczej. Na tle wyników porównawczych badań laboratoryjnych i polowych wykonanych przed i po przejściu frontu eksploatacyjnego, scharakteryzowano zmiany wytrzymałości na ściskanie skał znajdujących się w strefie wpływów podbierania i nadbierania pokładu. W nawiązaniu do zmian sytuacji górniczej w GZW po 1945 roku scharakteryzowano zmiany w warunkach hydrogeologicznych i ich wpływ na warunki geomechaniczne w otoczeniu wyrobisk górniczych. Such discontinuity may also occur in working conditions due to typical rock behavior and displacement. It may be very hazardous to mine safety. In this paper a method for non-destructive identification of discontinuity of a resin layer surrounding rock bolt is presented. The method used modal analysis procedures and is based on an impact excitation where a response transducer is positioned at a visible part of a rock bolt. As an installed rock bolt acts as an oscillator, different length of discontinuity of resin layer changes its modal parameters. By proper extraction of these parameters, from which a resonant frequency is seen as most valuable, the intended identification is possible. Also the results of research work concerning influence of explosions on installed rock bolts are presented. The investigated rock bolts were localized in a coal mine roadway near the region of explosions of dynamite charge. The test were performed before and after the explosions. The usage of the method was tested in copper mines as well.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Modelling of PDC drill bit whirling(2007) Prigorovska, Tania O.At this work it was made the attempt to explain the process of PDC drill bit whirling as an integral part of drilling in real conditions. It was shown that the causes of PDC whirling are not only the rock mass heterogeneity, but drill bit mass misbalance too and it is impossible to obtain absolutely stable drilling system. PDC drill bit previous models were based on the assumption all cutting forces are stable and that PDC drill bit oscillation is self appearable or stochastic. Based on the theory of probability it was defined the value of cutting forces on every PDC cutter and generalized drill face reaction and it was drill bit oscillation and whirling were analyzed.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Modelowanie numeryczne stanu naprężenia w sąsiedztwie przodka wyrobiska ścianowego z uwzględnieniem obecności metanu(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2011) Florkowska, Lucyna; Walaszczyk, JanKnowing the state of stress within rock mass near the exploitation area is a crucial element of planning mining works, especially in areas containing methane, which often happens in case of coal exploitation. One of the solutions to this problem is numerical modeling. This paper presents a method of estimating the changes of the state of stress around long wall exploitation area, based on MES numerical simulation. Mathematical model used here, treating coal as porous compressible medium, considers the presence of methane within rock mass and its flow caused by exploitation. It allows to observe both the changes of the state of stress and of methane porous pressure within rock mass. The tightness of the strata onlying the underground waste storage is checked with geophysical, hydrodynamic, hydrochemical-hydrodynamic, geochemical and drilling methods. The Authors characterize liquid waste storability, indicating the scope and type of analyses for determining the possibility of liquid waste storage in specific geological structures.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Określenie niszczącej strefy wpływów dla zjawisk sejsmicznych(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2008) Drzewiecki, JanThe article describes a method to calculate the range of a destructive influence area for seismic events, that is the area where destruction of working may occur. The basis for calculation of this range was the analysis of selected parameters of documented tremors which had taken place between 1990 and 2006. In the calculations a method of forecasting of seismic energy dependent on the intensity of exploitation with focus of tremors located in the front of coalface. Calculations were made for zones which size assumes probability of 20%, 50% and 80% of working destruction. The basis of calculation are seismic energy of dynamic events' located in the front of coalface and range of destruction areas around of mine working. A program has been elaborated in The Central Mining Institute which enables determining range of areas with given probability of mine working destruction. The results from such calculations can be used for correcting mine workings localizations and elaborating adequate preventive treatment techniques for obtained hazard levels. However, such activity has to be licensed by a respective minister. The basic legal acts regulating reservoirless waste storage underground, i.e. Geological and Mining Law as well as Environmental Law are discussed in the paper. This issue is especially important when closed or to-be-closed wells are involved. Selection criteria for injection wells are presented along with principles of wells' design, and range of geophysical surveys of post-exploitation wells, which were designated for injecting liquid waste. A model of the roof deflection and the solutions of the equations of the beam's axis deflection have been shown in the earlier papers. In this paper has presented the functions of the deflection, which depends the coefficient of excavation. Has calculated value of coefficient: a = 0.01-0.5. In the next step were describing the deflection curves of each data of coefficient and has analyzed the different of deflection of the roofs. Were looking for the tangential point of position of the beams. On this base was decided when the beams taken contact and where were generation the part of the less of contact. This situation was defined as beginning of the process accumulation of elastic potential energy, which can be relieve while destroying the bump of the basic roof.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Wpływ parametrów uskoku na zasięg jego oddziaływania(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2011) Drzewiecki, JanIn this article the method of estimation of range and intensity of fault impact is presented. From the practically point of view when the fault throw is comparable with height of longwall support there is a typical underground mining situation. On the other hand when the fault throw is higher than longwall face it will make an unfavorable situation. In each case the immediate vicinity of the fault or fault zones is characterized by anomalous in relation to the natural/gravity pressure condition. The vicinity of fault is a factor for weakening the rock mass. On the other hand the vicinity of the fault is an area of energy and stress concentration. This concentration in the vicinity of the fault combined with the energy accumulated in the range of longwall mining will determine the possibility of dynamic phenomena in hard coal seam as well as in the roof rocks. The proposed method also takes into account three parameters of fault: the faults throw h, the dip angle of the fault plane alpha and depth of hard coal seam H. The range of stress anomaly zones in the two walls of the fault is determined using a computer program developed by GIG called »SIGMA Z« for calculating the stress values using the formulas developed for calculating the values of the anomalous propagation velocity of longitudinal seismic wave in the analyzed area. Wydział Geologii, Geofizyki i Ochrony ŚrodowiskaPraca obejmuje zjawiska hydrogeologiczne związane z likwidacją szybu górniczego. Opisane zostały trzy warianty technologiczne likwidacji szybu górniczego w aspekcie konsekwencji hydrogeologicznych górotworu. Każdy z rodzajów zastosowanej technologii niesie ze sobą określony wpływ na środowisko hydrogeologiczne. Dlatego też każdy z wariantów poddany został szczegółowej analizie w celu wybrania wariantu najmniej ingerującego w ustabilizowane od lat środowisko hydrogeologiczne. W wybranym wariancie dodatkowo przedstawiono alternatywne przypadki przepływu wody w górotworze w zależności od zachowania się zasypu filtracyjnego.
