Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , A manual winch project with a two way ratchet mechanism(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2021) Zagórski, Krzysztof; Stompor, DanielThe article describes a solution to an engineering problem concerning the development of a design of a manual winch for off-road vehicle users. The aim of the design is to provide the possibility of extracting an off-road vehicle which is not equipped with an electric winch in the event it becomes stuck in mud or sand. The concept was based on a review of available solutions on the market and an analysis of their advantages and disadvantages. The design was based on calculations performed in accordance with the literature recommendations and FEM strength analyses carried out on a model created using Autodesk Inventor Professional 2020. The developed device is able to provide a pulling force of over 50 kN with an unladen weight of 35 kg, and also provides the possibility of controlled lowering of the load.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , An assessment of the susceptibility of Becorit K-255B and Modar R3/Mz friction linings(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2019) Stawowiak, Michał; Rożenek, ZenonThe article presents an assessment of the susceptibility of friction linings from two selected manufacturers. These tests are extremely important when assessing the safety of existing and newly designed shaft lifts and ski cableways. The research was carried out on measuring equipment at the Department of Mining Mechanization and Robotization of the Silesian University of Technology, where this type of research has been conducted for years. A measuring amplifier, road transducers, force transducers and a hydraulic testing machine were used for the tests, thanks to which the pressure was applied to the rope on which the friction lining was applied. The measurements were recorded on a computer, which was a recording and measuring station, after which they were processed, saved in tables and presented to the reader in the form of graphs. The main purpose of these tests was to obtain results giving information about the rope displacement at a specific pressure to the groove of the friction lining. It is also worth mentioning that the factor that has a significant impact on the achieved values of displacements is the time of the test. It is related to the properties of the material of which the friction linings are made that are used as a running track for the ropes.
