Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Wpływ sposobu likwidacji szybu na zagrożenie powierzchni w jego otoczeniu(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2005) Czaja, Piotr; Gąsiorczyk, AdamAfter ending of the mine operation all galleries and shafts lining can not be any more checked by the miner's teams. In such case the problem of its long-term stability in condition of the dynamic geological and others processes is very difficult for description. From the land owner point of view surface destruction hazard is very important. The results of some underground process can be observed at the surface even dozens of hundred of the years. A very interesting results of the observations and protection works around closed down in 1906 year mining shaft 'Wattenscheid' in Bochum (Germany) has been shown in the paper. In some day of the year 2000 two very large craters were created at the surface near the forgotten shaft even in the years of 1980 some protection injections has been done. Showed in the paper example should be a warning for all designer of shaft liquidation and post-mining land owner.
