Wydział Geologii, Geofizyki i Ochrony ŚrodowiskaThe aim of this thesis is to develop algorithms for pattern matching in digital images that can be used for efficient editing of three-dimensional models of the heart. The proposed algorithms are then to be implemented in a desktop application. .NET framework allows for a fast creation of software that can work on different operating systems. Support for the DICOM format enables a direct cooperation with the medical equipment. Using these technologies a 3D heart model editor was written. Models created with this application can then be used in the CT2TEE echocardiography simulator. Developed algorithms are characterized by relatively low computational complexity, which combined with precision allows for quick selection of threedimensional structures in the edited model.
