Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , After late modernity: possible scenarios for future social changes(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2019) Juza, MartaContemporary society is currently undergoing milestone transformations. Many are the signs that modernity is moving into the background, no longer the dominant form of social order. This phase of decline is connected to numerous problems: a sense of uncertainty, a normative crisis, or, in other words, a state of anomie. The question therefore arises as to what comes next. If anomie is perceived as an illness, then three further scenarios are possible: the end of the world, crisis as a permanent state of affairs, or a healthy »recovery« which would entail the emergence and stabilization of a new type of society. This article presents all three of these variants: a society scattered across a network form of social order, a social order based upon a new type of community, and an order which, on a broad scale, incorporates nonhuman objects within human societies.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Analiza blogów internetowych przy użyciu metod sieci społecznych(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2009) Zygmunt, Anna; Koźlak, Jarosław; Krupczak, Łukasz; Małocha, BartoszIn the paper the application of Social Network Analysis methods to Weblogs was described. Nowadays, these devices and websites are used to offer ability of remote communication (phone calls, message exchange etc.), which potentially can be used to notify people about meetings in the real world. Since the current social network models do not provide enough information for such notification (social networking websites are examples of social networks) a new social network model that will be suitable for the above mentioned application is proposed and a new social platform that base on mobile devices is introduced. This platform can notify users when their friends are nearby. Profile polskich partii politycznych na Facebooku(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2014) Karasek-Kędzior, Kinga; Porębski, LeszekThe paper addresses the problem of the use of Facebook by Polish political parties and their voters. Profiles of eight parties - with or without parliamentary representation - have been analyzed. Results of the research prove that both politicians as well as Faccbook users regard the party profile mostly as an instrument for distribution of information. Political mobilization and building group identity play limited and secondary roles. It is worth stressing that there is no direct relation between the position occupied by a specific party on the political scene and the intensity of potential Facebook use. Parties which avail themselves of the more advanced capabilities of social networks are most often outsiders on the political scene, only struggling for a strong political position.
