Item type:Thesis, Access status: Restricted , Wpływ metali ciężkich na rozwój bakterii glebowych(Data obrony: 2011-07-27) Kaczmarek, Izabela
Wydział Geologii, Geofizyki i Ochrony ŚrodowiskaHeavy metal pollution affects biological system as the result of human activities, industrial and agricultural. Problem of impact of heavy metals on soil microorganisms is very complex and depends on many extracellular and intracellular factors, not only on the total concentration of heavy metals in soil. Microorganisms which enter into composition of the community differ in a metal sensitivity. Toxic level of metals in soil can detrimentally affect of population size, diversity and activity of soil microorganisms. Bacteria have a number of strategies for reducing the toxicity of metals in their surroundings. The effect of different toxic heavy metals ions was studied on the CO2 production of bacteria in gardening soil. In the experiment impact of Cd, Zn and Pb determined depending on the concentrations of the metals, temperature and incubation period. The incubation period significantly affected the amount of CO2 emitted from soils contaminated with heavy metals - respiration decreased with increasing the incubation period. The strongest inhibition of the gas production was detected by the influence of Cd ions. Temperature is an important factor that regulates the soil microbial activity.
