Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Górnojurajsko-dolnokredowe skały macierzyste w zachodniej części Karpat fliszowych(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2008) Golonka, Jan; Matyasik, Irena; Skupien, Petr; Więcław, Dariusz; Waśkowska, Anna; Krobicki, Michał; Strzeboński, Piotr Andrzej; Vašíček, ZdenĕkThe analysis of possibility to find Upper Jurassic-Lower Cretaceous source rocks in the western part of Flysch Carpathians in Poland and Czech Republic was the subject of present paper. The Upper Jurassic organic-rich Mikulov marls represent world-class source rocks. These 1400 m thick organic-rich rocks with TOC value 0.2 $\div$ 10% sourced oils in the Vienna Basin and Carpathian subthrust in Czech Republic and Austria. The similar source rocks perhaps exist in the deeper subthrust areas in Poland. The Vendryne Formation rocks do not contain significant amount of organic carbon. The increased TOC was encountered within the Verovice Formation and uppermost part of Hradiste Formatio. These rocks represent global anoxic event OAE 1b. Verovice Formation contains potential source rocks for the Outer Carpathians systems with reservoirs various in age.Item type:Thesis, Access status: Restricted , Ocena potencjału węglowodorowego utworów miocenu pomiędzy Krakowem a Pilznem - perspektywa odkrycia nowych złóż w aspekcie zrównoważonego rozwoju(Data obrony: 2012-11-22) Piechota, Wojciech
Wydział Geologii, Geofizyki i Ochrony ŚrodowiskaThis master’s thesis contains geochemical analysis of rock samples from the Miocene Foredeep between Kraków and Plzno. Based on the analysis results, it was found that the majority of samples have gas-prone type III kerogen, dispersed organic matter is immature and hydrocarbon potential of the source rocks is poor. The discovery of new and significant deposits of natural gas in Miocene strata would allow for diversification of gas supplies, contribute to economic growth, which is the basis for a stable and sustainable development and could provide an additional source of gas in the event of increased demand.Item type:Thesis, Access status: Metadata only , Ocena potencjału węglowodorowego utworów Miocenu pomiędzy Pilznem a Przemyślem - perspektywa odkrycia nowych złóż w aspekcie zrównoważonego rozwoju(Data obrony: 2012-11-22) Pytlak, Łukasz
Wydział Geologii, Geofizyki i Ochrony ŚrodowiskaGeochemical research performed by Rock-Eval pyrolysis and bitumen extraction showed poor petroleum potential of the Miocene source rocks between Pilzno and Przemysl. The source rocks are thermally immature, and include III gas-prone kerogen. Petroleum modeling carried out in Jodłówka-4 well profile confirmed that source rocks are thermally immature and indicated that in Miocene strata only microbial gas could be generated. Low- temperature thermogenic process were possible only in areas where Miocene strata were buried on deeper depth: under the Carpathian Flysch. Opportunity to discover new hydrocarbon accumulations in the eastern part of the Miocene Foredeep could be tangible benefits in terms of increased energy security and opportunity for the development of the local community. Exploration and exploitation must go together with the environment protection. It can be realized only through the cooperation of geologists with environment protection specialists, land management specialists and local politicians.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Palaeogeografia Arktyki w jurze(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2009) Golonka, JanFour maps illustrate geodynamic evolution and development palaeoenvironment and palaeolithofacies of the circum-Arctic region during Jurassic times. Plate tectonic process involved break-up of the supercontinent Pangea, rifting and spreading, closure on Mongol-Okhock and Anui oceans, collision of terranes with North America. Clastic sedimentation prevailed during Jurassic in the region. Important source rocks were deposited during Late Jurassic-Early Cretaceous times.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Petroleum processes in the Palaeozoic-Mesozoic strata of the Grobla-Limanowa area (basement of the Polish Carpathians)(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2016) Wróbel, Magdalena; Kosakowski, Paweł; Więcław, DariuszThe geochemical characteristics of the Palaeozoic and Mesozoic strata of the basement of the Carpathian Foredeep depicted the Devonian and Carboniferous source rocks as the best source for hydrocarbon generation. Moreover, the Outer Carpathian sequence was geochemically characterized and proved capable of generating hydrocarbons. The oil-source rocks’ correlations indicated that the source of the condensate accumulated in the Łąkta field, while oil in the Grobla field. Maturity modelling identified Devonian source rocks as they reached a late phase of the »oil window« and, locally, even the »gas window«. The Carboniferous source rock was mature enough to start the generation processes. The generation started in the late Carboniferous, both in the Upper Silesian and Małopolska blocks. The main phase of the petroleum processes took place in late Neogene. The expulsion was observed only in the Devonian source rocks, and vertical migration by fault system in both blocks resulted in oil and gas accumulation in the Upper Jurassic carbonates and Upper Cretaceous sandstones. The petroleum modelling indicated the Devonian source for oil and gas fields in the study area. However oil-source rock correlation also suggests the presence of the Carpathian flysch source for hydrocarbons accumulated in the Łąkta field.
