    This study presents possibility of using geothermal energy in Poland for heat enginnering. As a result of the replacement of coal-fired boiler by the modern geothermal heating system are considerable environmental benefits. Existing geothermal heating plants in Poland has proven themselves to be reliable but their operation has brought a tangible environmental effects. Comparing the emissions of sulfur, nitrogen or carbon dioxide from conventional fuel such as coal with geothermal sources can be said the conventional fuel emission is largely greater than from a geothermal source. This geothermal investment consisting in connecting customers to the geothermal heating network, has positive effects not only environmental but also economical. An entering of air pollutants is regulated by a number of the legal aspects both at the national and European level.
