    The subject of description in this thesis is a collection consisting of 24 cylindrical stamps, 32 stone stamps and 39 ancient gems. These objects are in the collections of the Main Building of the National Museum in Cracow, Department of Decorative Arts and Material Culture in the sub-heading „Gems”. The aim of this study was to correction data contained in the above data sheets. objects, mainly on mineralogical and petrographic character of raw stone from which these exhibits were made. In doubtful cases (5 objects) it was necessary to the implementation of diagnostic laboratory tests that were conducted in the studios and laboratories Department of Mineralogy, Petrography and Geochemistry Faculty of Geology, Geophysics and Environment Protection, AGH in Cracow. The new set of directories, in addition to information on the nature of mineral stone, color and degree of limpidity, as well as shape, form, condition of the object and subject of the rite, the author ran a full photographic documentation of the specimens.
