Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Geomechanical modelling of Paleozoic Shale Gas Formation: a case study from the Baltic Basin, northern Poland(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2017) Słota-Valim, Małgorzata; Sowiżdżał, Krzysztof; Jędrzejowska-Tyczkowska, HalinaThe article presents the importance and position of geomechanical modelling workflow in reservoir characterization studies dedicated to unconventional shale reservoirs. We show the results of 3D geomechanical modelling carried out in an onshore area within the Baltic Basin, northern Poland, where the Silurian and Ordovician shale formations are the exploration targets. The fundamental elements of the methodology, processes, and available datasets used in the modelling are discussed. The petrophysical, elastic, and mechanic properties of the rock were applied in the modelling process, along with the principal stresses and pore pressure in the geological formation. Moreover, the main calculation methods and data requirements for the Mechanical Earth Model construction are discussed. A comprehensive 3D geomechanical model was constructed, providing important information to engineers and decision makers which allows them to optimize well placement, the direction of the horizontal section of the borehole and the parameters of hydraulic fracturing treatment. The model can identify zones of higher potential within the area of interest in terms of efficient stimulation treatment design.Item type:Thesis, Access status: Restricted , Ocena przydatności zastosowania metod korelacyjnych do wyznaczania parametrów mechanicznych gruntów spoistych(Data obrony: 2012-07-26) Zwolak, Marzena
Wydział Geologii, Geofizyki i Ochrony ŚrodowiskaThis work issues relatives to the assessment of correlative methods as applied to the determination of mechanical parameters of cohesive soils. Discussed are individual methods, which may be used to determine strength parameters – internal angle of friction and cohesion, and the directly related mechanical parameter, degree of elasticity. On the basis of archive data from various regions of Poland, correlative relationship between elasticity, internal angle of friction and cohesive were studied and then compared to relationships contained in norm PN-81/B-03020. Laboratory studies were carried out on soil samples taken Przymiarki, near Rzeszów. Strength parameters were determined using a direct shear apparatus, whilst elasticity was measured using a Casagrand’e apparatus. On the basic of studies carried out, an assessment was made of the effectiveness of indirect methods proposed by the norm with laboratory studies of individual soil samples.Item type:Thesis, Access status: Restricted , Ocena zastosowania metod pośrednich do oznaczenia wytrzymałości na ścinanie(Data obrony: 2017-01-26) Kaczmarzyk, Maria
Wydział Geologii, Geofizyki i Ochrony ŚrodowiskaNiniejszy projekt inżynierski przedstawia zagadnienia dotyczące metod umożliwiających wyznaczenie parametrów wytrzymałościowych wybranych gruntów. Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Próba weryfikacji parametrów wytrzymałościowych odpadów powęglowych metodą granicznego stanu naprężenia(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2009) Baran, Przemysław; Zawisza, Eugeniusz; Szymacha, AgataThe subject of the paper is verification strength parameters of colliery spoils. Angle of internal friction and cohesion have been obtain using a middle-size shear box apparatus as well as back analysis in conjunction with a laboratory model test. The strength parameters obtained from laboratory tests and calculations have been use in limit stress state analysis. The analysis has enabled to obtain a shape of slope and position of slip surface in limit state for two pairs of strength parameters. A comparison between the shapes calculated and the shape from model test, revealed the value of cohesion obtained using the shear box apparatus is half overstate.
