Item type:Thesis, Access status: Restricted , An investigation of Devonian salt-domes at the major tectonic regions of the Dniper-Donets basin(Data obrony: 2016-09-28) Gizun, Mariia
Wydział Geologii, Geofizyki i Ochrony ŚrodowiskaThe aim of the Master Thesis of Economic Geology is to get the most important skill for the future employer in the exploration geology business. The major job responsibilities of the Economic Geologist are: data handling, classification and analyses of the raw and archive data, pre-interpretation with indication of the future target or scientific potential of the data. Due to the mentioned career values I built my Master Thesis work. I believe that Dniper Donets basin has a great exploration potential for hydrocarbon not only among the State Ukrainian companies but as well for foreign investors, that is why the local professionals should be ready to show and to explain the World oil and gas exploration companies the resource potential of the Dniper Donets basin, based on not only the local framework geo-data but as well the public materials presented in the scientifically articles or public geological reviews. The study give a detail analyses of the archive seismic data and based on my study and working experience. The main purposes of the work are obtaining the seismic interpretation skills in complex with analyses of the framework data. One of the principle geological features of the Dniper Donets basin is salt tectonic architecture. Due to this fact in my work I will identified the major regional references horizons with faults and identified the major forms of salt structures at the tree principle tectonic parts of the Dniper Donets basin: the Axial zone, Southern and Northern Flank zones. For this reason, I used in my report available data set which is provides the processed seismic data for the following types of salt structures: sheet salt, pillow salt, columnar salt dome, salt dome with cap-rock formation on the top, and canopy salt structures. Interpreting seismic data requires an understanding of the subsurface formations, general structural and stratigraphic features of the study area and how they may affect wave reception. The major peace of the work connected with seismic stratigraphy thus one of the principle part of work is indication of a strata surfaces and their correlation with tectonic sequences of the DDB. The regional tectono-stratigraphy building of the DDB presented on the scientific publications of Stovba and Stephenson. From my point of view the publications gives satisfy structural and sequence basics of the DDB for the foreign reader. Seismic interpretation was carried out on GeoGraphix Discovery 2009 time volume of 2D and 3D seismic data. The interpretation of 2D and 3D seismic profiles takes in account VSP data, Log-Well summary reports and consulting with local geophysicist and geologists due to the major principles of seismic interpretation procedure and project leading.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Casting small-diameter ingots from multicomponent silumins(2014) Augustyn, Bogusław; Kumor, Paweł; Kapinos, Dawid; Żelechowski, Janusz; Bigaj, Mariusz; Zamkotowicz, ZbigniewThe casting of ingots from aluminum alloys with a smali range of solidification temperatures currently poses no major technical problems. On the other hand, problems do occur when multicomponent alloys containing elements such as Cu, Zn, or Mg are cast. This applies to alloys both wrought and cast. For these alloys, the differences in temperature starting and ending the solidification process reach 160°C. The difficulties are even more pronounced when the diameter of the cast ingot is less than 100 mm. Casting small-diameter ingots requires a very careful selection of parameters, which - for ingots with a diameter of about 70 mm - usually involve very high casting rates of up to 400 mm/min. The formation of a subsurface zone in the ingot along the crystallizer working length of several centimeters is very difficult at such a high casting rate and requires the precise determination of parameters for each alloy, particularly if this is a multicomponent alloy with a wide range of solidification temperatures. To this family of alloys belong multicomponent silumins, with the special case of phosphorus-modified near-eutectic and hypereutectic systems. Below are the results of technologicaI tests as well as structure examinations of ingots cast from silumins with different ranges of solidification temperatures. Ingots of 100-mm diameters were cast in a vertical system. In this arrangement, ingots with a diameter of 70 mm were also cast, using crystallizers normally operating in a horizontal continuous casting line.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Features of 2017A and AlSi9Mg aluminum alloys friction stir welded with root-side heating(2016) Mroczka, Krzysztof; Pietras, Adam; Jura, JerzyAluminum alloys 2017A and AlSi9Mg (hypo-eutectic silumin) were friction stir welded with a relatively high linear velocity (over 1 m/min) and use of an additional heat source from the root side of the weld. Macrostructure investigation (with high-resolution images) showed no effect of heating on weld quality. The welding process caused significant fragmentation of the secondary phases in the AlSi9Mg alloy. Furthermore, it was proven that the material above the weld nugget was not mixed and contained micro-defects that were not caused by welding. Also, it contained cavities on the boundaries between Si-particles and the matrix. Based on hardness distribution, a slight strengthening of the cast alloy was observed at the bottom and middle parts of the weld. However, the hardness of the 2017A alloy initially decreased and then increased due to natural aging. This means that the FSW process produced a metastable state in the alloy.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Halogen substitution in synthetic lead apatite compounds Raman spectroscopy study(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2014) Witkowska, Małgorzata; Motyka, Joanna; Kwaśniak-Kominek, Monika; Manecki, MaciejMimetite $Pb_{10}(AsO_{4})_{6}Cl_{2}$, vanadinite $Pb_{10}(VO_{4})_{6}Cl_{2}$ and pyromorphite $Pb_{10}(PO_{4})_{6}Cl_{2}$ are minerals isostructural with apatite occurring in the oxidation zones of Pb deposits. They exhibit hexagonal structure and rod-shape morphology.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Influence of time on modification effect of silumin AlSi11 with strontium and boron(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2017) Romankiewicz, Remigiusz; Romankiewicz, FerdynandStudies on the effect of time on the modification of AlSi11 silumin with variable strontium micro additives in the form of an AlSr10 master alloy and boron in an AlB4 master alloy were investigated. The results showed that the strontium micro additive resulted in a satisfactory improvement in the α(Al) + β(Si) eutectic and an increase in tensile strength $(R_{m})$ and unit elongation $(A_{5})$, this is also the case two hours after adding the modifier. The simultaneous modification of silumin with AlB4 and AlSr10 causes a strong fragmentation of the alloy grains and significant improvement in $(R_{m})$ and $(A_{5})$ (also two hours after adding the modifiers).Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Problem czasu w strukturach systemów produkcyjnych(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2009) Jodłowski, Władysław; Michlowicz, EdwardComplex production systems are being considered (for example steelworks, of copper). One should design the structure of such a system for the distant range of the time. In the paper changes in initial magnitudes of the system were considered (among others in the size and the structure of the demand for products), in entrance sizes (among others in the availability of raw materials) and other (among others environmental protections). Changes of the structure in the time were illustrated on the example of changes in the structure of the metallurgy of steel.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Research on influence of modification on structure and mechanical properties of manganese-iron brass CuZn40Mn3Fe(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2017) Romankiewicz, Remigiusz; Romankiewicz, FerdynandResearch on the modification of manganese-iron brass CuZn40Mn3Fe with the use of variable additions of titanium and boron have shown that these additives cause fragmentation (refinement) of the structures (grains and precipitates of phase a) and an increase in the amount of precipitations of phase a in the brass structure. As a result of this modification, growth in the brass impact resistance (from 40 J/cm2 to 46-48 J/cm?) and tensile strength (from 400 MPa to 509 MPa) are achieved.Item type:Thesis, Access status: Restricted , Synthesis and properties of high-entropy oxides from Co-Cr-Fe-Mg-Mn-Ni-O and Co-Cr-Fe-Mg-Mn-Zn-O systems(Data obrony: 2020-07-01) Moździerz, Maciej

The paper then presents its chemical composition and the significant influence of individual elements on technological and mechanical properties. The research section focuses the influence of the addition of Si and Mo to the matrix of gray iron. After casting, stepped samples were carried out on the microstructure along with UTS tensile strength tests. The research presented in the article is a preliminary step towards the goal of obtaining a stable production process for silico-molybdenum cast iron.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , The influence of alkali concentration and temperature on chemical activation of halloysite(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2016) Maziarz, Paulina; Matusik, JakubThe influence of alkali activation on clay minerals is not thoroughly investigated, particularly in terms of its impact on adsorption possibilities of clay minerals.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , The influence of iron powder and disintegrated steel scrap additives on the solidification of cast iron(2010) Kopyciński, Dariusz; Dorula, JózefThe study proves that by introducing the iron powder and disintegrated steel scrap to low-sulphur cast iron still before the inoculation carried out with a conventional graphitising inoculant, the mechanical properties similar to those obtained during the inoculation treatment carried out on cast iron with the recommended high sulphur content are achieved. The said operation increases the number of crystallisation nuclei for dendrites of the primary austenite. In this case, the iron particles act as substrates for the nucleation of primary austenite gp due to a similar crystallographic behaviour of the regular face centered cubic lattice The more numerous are the dendrites of primary austenite, the less free space is available in the interdendritic spaces for the formation of graphite eutectic grains, which makes the structure more refined (more eutectic grains) and the mechanical properties higher.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , The kinetics of heavy metals immobilization by modified halloysite(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2014) Maziarz, Paulina; Matusik, JakubHalloysite is a clay mineral, belonging to the kaolinite group.
